Just wanted to share a couple shoddy pics of my new setup.
Pictured with Kershaw Skyline and Old Lumens XLZ Skinner.
L2T I have is the flat dark grey color, so I swapped the tail cap and installed the glossier black bezel from my L2M. Now pieces alternate: black/grey/black/grey/black.
The tail shroud is super handy. A little pricey, but worth it. Surprised I don’t see more of them around.
I was interested in this question too, and since I’m too impatient to wait for Haterade, I looked around and found this. Obviously, I can’t be sure if this is the one he used, but…
At $24, I don’t see the value since you can by a SF tail standing tail cap for about 1/4 of that directly from SF (or less than 1/2 if you really want the pocket clip too).
Yeah, I have the tail stand cap from SF too, but mine was unstable due to button protruding. Pissed me off - since they advertise it as tailstanding!
Futzed with the SF “tailstand” one a bit, but no luck. Its been swapped to the L2T - see last pic. (My L2T original switch has better feel… weird… another reason for swapping it with the mini tail.)
The OR delrin shroud has bigger footprint and stands rock solid. Also makes it so both ends of the light sit level if you lay it on its side.
Someone should make a cheaper version. Even the one without the clip is overpriced. Should be no more than $5.
Sooo close! Googlefu not so strong, lol. So I guess it’s $10 just to add the clip? Wow! We are all in the wrong business.
Anyway, It does add to the aesthetic of the light, no doubt, and I’m sure it works well, but that still seems expensive to me. With luck, our friends in China will make a clone/copy and we can all get one.
How exactily does it go on the tail cap? Press fit?
That looks really good Haterade. it changes the look of the light totally. It would also make holding the light through the fingers like a cigar grip easy as well.
OK, Cx, it’s been almost a whole day and we know you have a lathe, so… where’s the prototype? And more importantly, can you make some for sale that are more reasonably priced? I’ll take four.
Hehe...I just got back home a little while ago. I'll have some time tomorrow to work on this, as it's not a good idea for me to play with machinery when tired.
