Up for sale is a cut down 1D. It's a 3rd Gen Maglite cut down and made to fit 1x26650 or 1x18650.

Specs:

Coated glass Lens

Stock reflector and focusing mechanism

Aluminum heat sink

Maxtoch 26mm Copper mcpcb

XM-L2 in the 6000k - 6500k range

14x7135 linear driver with the Drjones lumodrv program

Momentary SMD switch

File work

26650 & 18650 sleeves - Cannot use a 32650, due to the inner copper sleeve that holds the two ends of the body together.

Tail cap braid mod

Focuses to a good spot, but flood is funky, with the "X" in the center.

Draws 4.5 amps at the tail, with a Sony 26650 and my cheapo meter.

That is very cool and if I had the money I would.

But it truly amazes me that Mag don’t actually sell a light like this, either 3xAA or 4xAAA powered (could use the ML for the AAA variant).

It would seem like a winner without big re-tooling costs for them.
