Some TM-30-18 test reports using Colormunki Photo / i1Pro

Interesting how the dedomed 5700K 519a has a significantly lower R9 than the 5000K 519a in the M1.

thanks for the charts… now I understand why there is a buzz about the SFT 3000K

that is a big difference… 99 vs 77… but maybe the 5700K just had a lower R9 to begin with?

In addition to insufficient red, excess red can also bring down R9.

Are you saying DeDoming lowers R9 score because it increases Red?:

Makes perfect sense, dedoming makes it redder, to the point it’s too red.

At lower modes the positive Duv is more pronounced:

Convoy uses the SB-J4 bin of SBT90.2.

turbo mode, note the change in CCT and therefore the CRI values.

Arkfeld Pro laser (Class 3R, 5mW)

I measured a peak at ~518nm

Flashlight on the iPhone SE 3rd gen. Note the extremely positive DUV as well as the low CRI. It seems that flagship models are equipped with LEDs that have 90+ CRI, 80+ R9 and a neutral DUV.

For comparison, here’s the flashlight on the iPhone 15 Pro Max under the same ambient lighting conditions:

Apple’s supplier list lists Nichia and ams-Osram. Wolfspeed/CREE and Luminus are not listed. However I think they might be for display backlights/mini/micro-LEDs

This is a very surprising color report to me. Compared to the spectrum of a Nichia 519A in 5000K (to match CCT), this spectrum does not have a cyan dip, yet it receives a lower Ra rating of 94 compared to typically 97+ for the 519A. Any guesses why this is the case?

BTW thank you so much for uploading these color reports, they are an excellent reference for those who care much about color quality.

I don’t have enough technical background to understand these graphics–would you send me a reference for how to read them?

I’m also not well-versed in this. Perhaps someone more informed can chime in.
