I like my SC31 PRO a lot, but CCT is too high for my taste (5000K). I want to swap mcpcb with other led, but what are my options?
Will SST-20 work with SC31 PRO on turbo?
Thanks.
Compared to the SST-40, the SST-20 will result in a slightly lower lumens output but with a slightly tighter hotspot.
On FET depending on the battery used and any resistance by-passes performed it would be pushing the upper limits of the SST-20.
I can’t say about extended runtime at full out Turbo but I’ve run short bursts of Turbo (~6.7A) and haven’t blow my SST-20 (2700K) emitter yet Heats up fast though. Remember YMMV.
I’m using 4000K sst20. Took it for a walk the other day. Worked fine. I set my temperature threshold low so it ran fine. Ramped down when it got hot.
Note that I’m using a flood optic so can’t comment on the beam.
Might check out the LH351D high CRI
Have you tried thr ones from Sofirn? How’s the tint? Any green?
I personally haven’t tried them, nor can I tell if there’s any green. I’m color challenged.
It works fine with sst20 2700K from kaidomain and 15 degree frosted tir optic. Works on FET with 35E cell. Very usable beam and tint in my opinion.
I have FC11 2700K LH351D with same 15 degree optic and FC11 is a little bit floodier. I like SC31pro more because of anduril and lighted button.
Whsre do you get the optic?
kaidomain
This one is best in my opinion. Beam without artifacts and still enough throw.
I really like the Luxeon V. They are available in 4K and are high output. They are not high CRI but they have a really great tint. They are tougher than the SST 40’s too. SST20 will get you more throw and be higher CRI but less output. The SST20’s are not as tough. I don’t know if it would survive in your light. I don’t know enough about the driver in that light. You would need to reflow the Luxeon though.

I tested one 4000K and 2700K from Sofirn here , it’s with a beaded TIR lens so with a reflector the spot duv will be a bit greener.
The 3500K from Convoy (bin U6) will probably be the nicest although I haven’t tested it.
