Spyderco fakes vs Ganzo?

I love Ganzo knives, but also Spyderco is one of my favorite companies.Their knives are way overpriced in my opinion, and I like Military and Endura models. How do these fakes compare to Ganzo knives, and where can I get a good copy of Military model? Also, does anyone have Enlan El06,I have that on order?

I have one from this seller and it is a very good copy.

They claim “authentic OEM”. Thats either a flat out lie, or they are the factory that makes these for Spyderco?

Hey mate i have a few Enlan knives they are great knives i would recommend them i like them better then Ganzo i done a review on the Enlan EL-02B its a great knife it looks like it has some of the same features as the one you ordered.

I don’t think the paramilitary were ever made in China were they? Some of the cheaper ones were i know.

^ +1.
Afaik, all the Paramilitary models are made exclusively at Golden, Colorado.
So the authentic OEM is a blatant lie.

For my money, I would get the Ganzo or Enlan over fake Spydy

I like military model, the one listed above is paramilitary, yeah, enlans are good,el02 ,but el06 seems like excellent knife too .Thiner flat grinds cut well, thats why I like them, ill probably regrind blade on enlan to thin flat.

I figured so. Just read Spyderco’s blog about fakes. Already own the Ganzo, and it is a nice knife. Not into counterfeits. Copies maybe, as long as they aren’t stealing the name and logo and trying to pass it off as the real thing.

:+1: same here.

Spyderco … very expensive!
Ganzo… very cheap!(almost same q)

I am with you on the Spydie fakes and also the BM fakes.

I have a collection of Spyderco, Benchmade and recently started on Zero Tolerance.

I have no problem with chinese companies developing their own thing, but sick and tired of the World’s intellectual property being blatantly stolen with the endorsement of the their government.

Another thing to consider is a $15 Ganzo, Enlan or SanRenMu is most probably better built and finished than a $15 knock-off Spydy or BM.

You’re most probably getting the real 440C or 8cr13 steel as printed on the Ganzo’s or Enlan’s blade but you have no idea what steel is used on the fake knife, as I pretty much doubt it is S30V, S110V, CTS-XHP, etc as what is printed on the blade

I will never buy an expensive knife. I’m quite happy with my Enlan’s, Sanrenmu’s, and Ganzo’s. They do the job, and the build quality is fine. But then again, I’m not an knife expert.

You just pay for the trademark!

Major knife companies make nice knives, but theyre overpriced.Ganzo,Sanrenmu and Enlan make knives that are almost as good for much less. The Tenacious that many people are hyping up costs 3 x more than ganzos, etc, and is made in the same factory LOL,and is not a better knife as most Spyderco fanboys are pushing.I have Tenacious, and its not a bad knife, but Ganzos, sanrenmus and Enlans blow it out of water.

Even Spyderco makes some budget knives. The Spyderco byrd Cara Cara2 is only $20 and is supposed to have very good heat treatment. The comet instead of the usual circle hole is a bit lame though. Also available with a G10 handle ($30).

Yes, Spyderco’s Byrdcollection are made in China.

I just ordered the Cara Cara 2 a few days ago after reading a wiki article on the Byrd line. I believe the Byrd line is fully backed by Spyderco. They should be of decent quality, after all it is a Spyderco product. I guess I could also look up some Cara Cara reviews on the internet. Honestly though, I have never really been "turned on" by the Spyderco design until recently. I actually like the comet design a little more.

Can't wait until they release the Cara Cara Cara 3.....

Byrd knives are nice, and I have one with frn,but the ones with g10 cost more, double the price of Ganzo like enduras, and the steel is same or even little better on ganzos.Even one with frn costs 13$ more than Ganzo with g10 handles, and linerlocks are nice on ganzos, make it open faster than backlock.Actually I like the hole on Byrd knives better than round hole.Byrd line is nice, but they should be little cheaper.I have about 15 knives from Spydercoand Benchmade, but theyre overpriced for what you get, period! And another thing I forgot to add is I had Spyderco Endura in vg10,but the steel on it was too soft,so it held edge the same as my tenacious in 8cr13mov,and my Byrd Cara Cara.I posted it up on bladeforums but most people seemed to ignore it LOL.The delica I still have in vg10 holds the edge same as my cara cara in 8cr13 mov made in China.Yes,a lot of it is the hype, youre paying for the name!
