Stock UF-1405

I’m curious about the amount of light this thing puts out in stock form. They List 1200lm but we All know that’s rarely accurate. I’m not a modder but I want to try a Zoomie and this looks like a hefty well built light. Thanks http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_71429.html ps Does it ship with 2 adapters to run 2 18650’s

The XM-L2 in the 1405 is weak driven and will not impress. In flood modus I estimate 500 lumen, much less in throw modus.

Once you start modding the thing with direct drivers and dedomed leds on copper dtp boards, it comes alive!

In fact the only zoomie in stock form that ever impressed me was the sk68 with good old XR-E led on a 14500 cell.

Thanks

Yup 500-550 lumens and about 50-70kcd.

I’ll also measure tonight…

Finding a worthy Zoomie (without modding) is a pain. I’m thinking maybe a Coast HP-14 or Polysteel 600. I think they have Glass lenses and good quality. Problem is only around 600 lumens.

I measured 538.1 lumens…

…and 78.8kcd

zoom you might want to look at the Zuessray it runs on one 18650 has a east 092 direct drive xml2 and stock over 900 lumens and on flood throws a ton of bright white light and it throws decently to.and runs under 8.00$ or the. operating pill version for about 12.00$

Thank you. Is the “Operating pill” version worth it? Would you happen to have a link?

Sorry about that I thought u spelled copper pill not operative pill. here is one link they have 3 models on with aluminum pill another with brass and another with copper but all in all a super pocket rocket of a zoomy

I’m not seeing the link?

For me, also the SK-73: XM-L and 18650. I was lucky to find one early in my shopping. It fits in a pocket easily and is direct drive through the same IC that controls it. Protected cells don’t fit.

Is the SK-73 hollow pill?

I’m afraid it is hollow in both of mine. I had forgotten that. That won’t matter much with a thick copper star, but it makes it surprising that it works so well in stock form. The ZeusRay is similar and even cheaper, with a solid pill, but its build isn’t quite as nice in other ways and the consistency appears not to be as good. The best thing of that style is the CNQ Zoomy Host, but it only comes in kit form.

I have not kept up with all the posts regarding the Zuesray…but last I read they are no coming with that driver. They now come with a weak next mode driver.

Seems like CNQG does not sell that zoomy host anymore…

I still see it here: http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1957, and it put one in my cart when I clicked on it.
My latest version has a Nichia 219C and 12 * 7135 Qlite. It is very nice.

Thanks Fritz
