Thank you for your message E1320, and I don't think it's nasty at all.
In fact, Mr. Flashlight Foy sent us a message before Christmas, after comunication we were allowed to continue using this great picture.
But now, I finally know this picture is not the correct photo of the light we are selling,we are going to take it down, please give me a little time. We don't want to mislead our client.
I feel really sorry about that, please kindly accept our apologies!
I accept your apology and appreciate your fast response. To alienate the entire BLF family by using an unauthorized photo would be a grave mistake for your business and your honor. I was not aware he gave you permission to use his photos. It really is up to Flashlight Foy to comment on this thread and make this matter right.
I agree sellers should not post other people's pictures without permission especially if it's for the wrong product. It's wrong and misleading. But what are you going to do? Flashlight police?
On a separate note, I have purchased from 365bid before after recommodation specifically from this forum. Bought an UF-C8 set with 2 batts, charger, & holster on behave of a friend. Received it in 14 days to Canada with no issues. They seemed to have good ratings.
365bid - good to hear you will make it right by removing the pictures. Kudos to you.
Anyone familiar with my disputes with YouWantLed will know that I am always ready to jump on someone I perceive as being utterly disreputable. I do not perceive that 365bid falls into that category.
I am always willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt on one occasion especially if they have the integrity to come onto this forum and admit their error.
I do believe that 365bid was out of order in respect of this photo but he has apologised for that. By all other accounts 365bid appears to be a seller worth trading with. ANTI-NOWHERE-LEAGUE had dealt with this seller and rates the seller highly as regards quality of product and speed of shipping.
Whoa, hold on. You make it sound like the mistake you made was saying it was a 501B when it was in reality a 980L. NO, your mistake was that you stole a photo off of this site that did not belong to you. That is theft, pure and simple. Just because it is "on the Internet" does not mean it is public domain. YOU need to ask the owner of the photo for his permission to use it and reimburse him accordingly.
Next time, just take your own photos and post them, and you will see how much work Foy put into those beamshots.
This is a lot more about respect for other people's work, and copyright laws, than it is about which light is in the photo.
Since Foy no longer owns the bush ...Nor did he have the bush sign model wavers .It appears that the new owners are seeking to promote the bushes popularity overseas .
Foy did dispicable things to that poor cactus and doesn't want to get mixed up in legal issues concerning plant abuse ..
Baked Cactus recipe..Bake with one xml for 10 minutes a day for one year ...
I appreciate your coming here and I also appreciate your polite response. Because the photos are misleading, I respectfully ask that you not use my pictures any more.
I realize this may not be a huge deal but I've become somewhat bothered by it.
Beam shots/pictures might be trivial to others but to us in the flashlight community, they represent a significant investment in time and effort. Moreover; a particular beam shot demonstrates the performance of that flashlight, with that drop-in and with whatever battery is being used at that time. Grabbing a beam shot off the internet and suggesting the torch you are selling will deliver that performance is hardly accurate.
I'm not suggesting you are deliberately misleading or being dishonest . . . I just think this is one shortcut you probably shouldn't take. Better yet, if you really are a family trying to make ends meet, take your own beam shots and gain enormous credibility from this particular corner of the universe. Otherwise, suspicions that you're just another unscrupulous seller will be confirmed.
Agreed, if there was an eBay seller that actually took the time to photograph their own beamshots of the actual flashlights they sell, I am sure they would get a lot of business from me, and the rest of this forum.
As of 6:33 EST Jan 7 2012, picture is still on the ebay listing.
Yes, all of these pictures were removed from our listing by now.
Again, thank you very much for your kindness that you previously allowed us used your picture for a while.
I think you were more than cool about it. The guy STOLE your photo without permission, that is illegal, it is copyright infringement, which it seems the Chinese take very lightly. Doesn't matter what light it was, the right one or the wrong one, he stole your art.
As an amateur photographer, that really pisses me off.
