I can’t seem to get my new boot cover installed in my Mach flashlight.
The original one broke from the little nub/ collar that is halfway down the stem. It is still inside the flashlight somewhere. That may be a possible hindrance although I looked as good as I could and I don’t see it.
You would think the engineers would make enough room because I’m not the first one who broke one of these.
SEE PHOTOS:
You will see the original one and the new one side by side so you can get an idea of the size of the piece that broke off inside the light. Every time I push on it it just so flexible it won’t go in I don’t want to use a screwdriver and break it or probe.
That hole is small if you try to put it in sideeways , the width of the stem is wider than the hole so you can’t put it in side ways it’s even wider than the whole but I got it in the hole I can only go as far as the little nub and I’m twisting and trying to get it in. I’ve never liked these things anyway I never use them on other lights I charge my batteries but on this one you have no choice.
I’ll keep trying or I’ll just use the broken one that stays in place I haven’t lost it yet.
I bought three of them. First one just broke. I’m not worried about it. I used the original one that broke for almost a month. So now I have two broken ones. If they get lost then I have two unbroken ones and I’ll go from there! It’s kind of a ridiculous invention or whatever you want to call it I’m not the only one who started a thread on this.I saw it on reddit.
The picture below is the broken one in there .it’s secure it hasn’t fallen out in almost a month. It just doesn’t have that stupid hinge in there that is just about impossible to get back in
yeah…that’s a very strange design choice, lol…it also doesn’t help to have squared corners on the rubber against an abrasive corner, the corners are easier to start a cut, and the moment a cut happens on polymers, the rest tend to split along that cut…
