Well, the subject says it all.
Today I have a UF2100 modded by E1320 which is a great light. Foy review
However I want something in similar size more or less equally powerfull.
Any suggestions?
I have been looking at this one but I do not know…… No strobe and 3 mode looks tempting and it seems fairly powerful. EDC 18650
Oh, I want it to be able to tailstand as well.
Budget……well, around 30 USD but if you can convince me to get something else for slightly more money any suggestions are welcome
You can pick up a UF HD2011 for 9.99 it’s pretty much what you have now without the mod. They have them on sale at Wallbuys. I just ordered one yesterday.
I just ordered this one. just like the looks of it and has a side clicky. I dont have smaller 18650 lights that can go in pants pockets well like my AA/14500’s can. Maybe this one will work for me. First timetrying Fasttech but have gotten good reviews so thought i would try them with a new light.
I have both and the EDC 18650 is much higher quality. I have the XML T6 3C version and I really like that tint. Not quite as bright as a U2 but much better tint in my opinion.
Gords purchased one of these and I followed him.
Intl-Outdoor seems to have the same item in stock named “LXP 18650 1.75”, as the name suggests the drive current is lower at 1.75 amps.
The Fancyflashlights version is still on sale, though it should have ended on 30th already, if you try it you may got lucky.
For $16 it’s a nobrainer.
The trustfire t2 linked above from fasttech will out throw all of the others linked, barring the eagletac ilf linked, and that is only if the eagletac is the xp-g2 option with the match recommended xm-l driver.
I’m currently using the t2 as my edc, as standard it pulls between 1.8a and 2.1a. I fitted an xp-g 4c nw emitter and an ak47 driver with one extra 7135 chip fitted (my first stack mod )
Be aware, as an edc its a centimeter or so bigger than the others linked, due to the side clicky and long tailcap. It will however take all 18650 cells upto keeppower 3400mah.
It will need the threads lubing, as most lights do, and I would seriously consider a driver swap to lose the blinkies, it took about 20 minutes or so to strip the light, remove the emitter/driver, stack the extra chip and fit the new emitter driver - for me, perfect edc.
The light from fancy flashlights is inbound, for $16 imo its an absolute steal, you’d struggle to buy a host/emitter/driver for that, it has the mode group control I like (5mode/3mode selectable on the clicky) which is the same as the driver modes in my own built edc18650 (ld-25 driver). I don’t have a need for this light and will likely “test” it out before gifting it with a pair of good cells and charger.
I think you’ll like, based on the fact its very similar to my edc18650, its a nice size, and I like the fact that if I do for some reason, want the blinkies, they are still available, ie emergency break down it the car to warn on coming traffic etc.
Yes, very deep bezel.
I’d like to see a smo reflector and a shorter bezel.
and 8x7135s like the FancyFlashlights XIAOZHI linked above driving that U3.
I like that cylindrical form factor for an EDC.
Great little light and I can’t say it is noticably less brighter than the modded UF-2100 I have.
And it only took me one week to get it all the way from China to Sweden:-)
