I plan to make a drop-in for a 9z Surefire.
What would be a good driver to use that could take two rechargeable lithiums or the 3 cr123 batteries?
I would like to know about drivers that are 3 modes with no strobe, or just a single mode.
Thanks!

I have a centurion c3 and finding a 9v driver has not panned out,so I bought a thrunite 3 mode xml module. It's green and not really powerful but it does work, the green just annoys me.On the non budget side, malkoff drop-ins work with 9v and are great but you pay for it.9v format is getting outdated and it's hard to find driver boards for it.

That’ll do two lithiums, I’ve got on waiting for a mag mod and its smaller ld25 brother in my edc. I don’t know if it’ll do 9v, but otherwise it’s got the same features as the ld25, nice UI, nicely spaced modes, don’t have to have blinkies if you don’t want. I assume your driving an xm-l?
Hope this helps.
That would work if I was using an XM-L. Ooops, I did leave out that important detail. I want to use an XP-G2.
Hmmm, so you want about 2.2a then? I’ll have to look later, intl outdoor doesn’t have anything unfortunately.
There’s this at lck-led :-
At 2.5a, its still overdriven, but may be worthwhile if the heat sinking for the emitter is really good. I’m not to familiar with surefires or the limits of xp-g2 sorry, it will do your 3 cr123’s though. 8)
Gords,
I believe the driver you linked to is too large to fit in a 9Z, will 20 mm dia board fit??
Only multi-mode driver on Intl Outdoors that fits OP bill is the LD21 but its only 1A max drive.
Lumens Factory makes drop-ins w/ multi-mode buck drivers but again max drive current is only 1A.
There are high output buck drivers available, the Shark Buck from the Sandwich Shoppe comes to mind, but most are rather pricey; $25 - $50.
It more than likely is too big, as you say, there’s not much in a nice current range and I think the assumption is that most multi cell hosts are on the larger side. As I say, I’m very unfamiliar with surefires.
