TANK007 - WK1 Project together with the TLF

Hey Guys.

After all the problems with a special edition flashlight we finally found a solution.

Henry from Tank007 gave us a positive answer.

He wants to collaborate with both forums together.

We chose the TANK007 WK1 as subject for a forums flashlight.

It will come in THIS BLUE for the forum users only!

We’ll have our lettering “TLF/BLF EDITION 2026” and individual serial numbers!

We’ll have to collect 200$ at all for the forums anodisation and to pay it to him before the flashkight will produced.

He’ll produce a run of 2000 WK1 at all, but only the foeum ones in this blue!

We also have to pay on his website the individual flashlights, so every person who’s interested in this light will pay his own piece.
It will work like a Kickstarter Project!

After we have the total numbers of users for the light and every user has paid the light, the further organization and production will start.

That means, that after we have the total numbers of both forums together, we can discuss the payment procedure.

The flashlight will cost 79$ with shipping and taxes as far as I understand!

How do you think about it and who will be in?

The WK1 is a great light, but it needs the following changes:

  1. USB cover often doesn’t seal, it’s not a tight fit.
  2. UI is click on, hold off. Terrible for most on here.
  3. Place for a clip on the body
  4. The included protected cell is too long, the spring dents the negative
  5. Glass to protect the optics, if possible

“UI is click on, hold off. Terrible for most on here.”
THIS!

I was sent it for review, and while it’s very useful, I just wouldn’t buy it for $79 unless the changes above were implemented, minus the glass. The UI is annoying, no shortcut to turbo or moon, plus moon is 10 lumens.

6 Thanks

I’ll ask Henry about it.
He wrote that he is in the BLF…anybody knows his Nickname?
If yes, we can mark him.

The sustained spot beam output was surprising, as was the time it takes to stepdown.

2 Thanks

That’s interesting - the flood has a surprising amount of runtime. Would you say it’d be useful at a lower intensity, like if I was using it late at night just to read a chart or something in the car? Or would I be better off bringing a different light for that?

I know this light is a bit special, but really no one interested in this special edition? There are quite a few people on TLF that are in on this, would be quite sad if no one here wants one!
I already gave my vote on TLF, just a little push

1 Thank

It’s a light that I don’t particularly want to buy in a colour that I wouldn’t choose, so no. I don’t care if it’s a special edition, it needs to be something that I want to begin with.

First rule about a Special Edition. Pick something (at a price) that everybody wants. And then limit the (numbered) quantity.

2 Thanks

The numbered quantity is limited to the forum users which are interested in of it.
The blue color will be only produced for us.

I’ll make a new thread for a budget light in a few hours. I think that will be more BLF-friendly.
