I have no idea why I just bought this… Other than, it was there. TLL I wonder if someone can mod it to a brighter LED?
I have a similar light, but the one i have is also Coat Guard approved for use as a beacon ocean distress light, ( with 5 modes, Strobe, SOS, lo,med,hi.) waterproof, uses 1D battery and red body with clear lens & CREE emitter.
Do you have a link to where I could see one? A clear lens would be a lot better than the one on my purchase. Not that I need to spend more money, but, I have wants that never seem to get fulfilled.

I take it with me on my boating & Canoeing trips. I was thinking of modding it with an bigger XM-L emitter.
it would probally be easy to mod yours with a different emitter and a 5-mode driver so it has different brightness modes and strobes if wanted.
Your probably right, but I do like that clear lens. After I get it, I may see if someone can mod it for me, as all I know about modding is how to spell it.
There are quite a fiew of us here who can probally do a mod to that for you. ( theres likely to be somone closer to your state you could send it to get it modded. ( as i live in Canada way up north.
