Test/Review of Charger Efest LUC V4 2014

It is fine for 14500, but to much for 10440.

You have a great deal of integrity Calvin and Craig. Thank you for doing that for all of us!

The new schmancy Nitecore charger (whenever it comes out) has a MAP 5 dollars less than this, does it not?

The Nitecore D4 has the nice screen and can do nimh too, but we'll have to wait for a test to see how it actually performs. My i4 terminates at 4.24V. It'd be nice to have a charger that terminates right at 4.20V. Hopefully the D4 can do the same. I'm interested in the analyzing non-hobby charger HKJ picked up. This is looking to be a very good year for lithium ion battery chargers.

A bit old thread to revive. I came across a dutch vape shop that I used to buy batteries from, and it appeared about to stop business, with discounts. So I got an Efest LUC V4 for 19 dollar which is a good price. And I’m really pleasantly surprised:

-it looks great
-it does exactly what I want: charge li-ions at 0.5A, 1A or 2A, and nothing more, just a button for switching the charge current, for all bays simultanuously (I have an Opus BC3100 if I want anything more exotic)
-it displays exactly what I want: charge state, voltage, and if it is finished or not, and nothing more…
-a relief: the (dim) display stays lit at all times, I can’t stand the display of my BC3100 switching off when I still want to look at it

It has now replaced my antique Nitecore i4 and most of my charging will happen in it.

On the BC3100 you should be able to press and hold the display button for 5 seconds to make the display stay on, and vice-versa - to toggle it.

Did not know that, I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
