Test/review of Vapcell INR21700 4200mAh T42 (Red) 2021

Vapcell INR21700 4200mAh T42 (Red) 2021

Official specifications:

  • Model: T42

  • Size: 21.5*70.1mm

  • Typical Capacity: 4200mAh (0.2C discharge)

  • Min capacity: 4000mAh (0.2C discharge)

  • Nominal voltage: 3.60V

  • Max Continuous Discharge Current: 35A

  • Max Discharge Current: 50A with 80°C cut

  • End-of-charge voltage: 4.20V

  • End-of-discharge Voltage: 2.5V

  • Weight: 70g ( Appr)

  • Internal resistance: 8mOhm AC 1kHz

  • Standard Charge: 4000mA,CCCV 100mA cut-off

  • Quick Charge Current: 8000mA

This is a high current 21700 cell.

The two cells matches nicely and capacity only drops slightly even with 30A load, as usual the temperature goes up at high load.

Conclusion

This is a good high current cell.

The 40T is definitely starting to look outdated now. Wonder who makes this cell.

Thank you for yet another great battery review!

Thank you so much for the test HKJ! We appreciate your hard work. This cell is very close to the P42A but a little better at higher currents. The Molicel cell gets the edge for cell consistency though. 10-15amps and it looks like a toss up between the two. But equal to that or below and I think I’d just take the Molicel.

? The performance characteristics are pretty similar. Also it should be known that the 40T3 has exceptional cycle life.

Good :+1:

Wow impressive performance! Beats the 40T quite a bit. Seems identical to the Molicel P42A except at 20A and 30A where it takes off. Any idea if this is an updated version of the 40T such as the 40T3 or a new version of the P42A?

This is not SAMSUNG 40T3. 40T3 shows much lower voltage than 40T and 40T2 during dis-charging, but much longer life-cycle and slightly higher capacity. This T42 also shows quite low AC 1kHz IR (close to 30T), probably a rewrapped MOLICEL P42B.

Simple Tests:

I didn’t know there was a P42B. I just did some online research and havent’ found any testing on the P42B. Anyone tested that cell yet? Btw, I just found a new test on Vapcell’s Tesla NCR18650T1 and was found to be the best high capacity 18650 in existence. Vapcell is on a roll :+1:
