Alkalien AAA batteries are very limited on current and power.











With a 1A load it is not even possible to draw 250mAh, before the voltage is below 1V.









Conclusion

Being smaller than AA, the capacity is less than half of AA.
For anytning that needs power lithium or NiMH is much better.

You neglected to plot discharge curves for energy vs. premium energy.


Can't tell nuttin' without that.

Should be 250mAH, no?

Manufacturer needs to define high and medium drain. Seems like 1A is asking a lot of a AAA.

I cannot imagine using an alkaline AAA in a 1A drain situation. It’s not what they’re for.

What about AAA lights?

Here is a curve from one, showing the current drain:

It definitely needs something with more power than alkaline, if you want to run it on high.

If I am not mistaken, I used these batteries in a fenix e05 as an edc. I had it in my pocket every day, and one day the light would not work and I had to use a lot more force than normal to rotate it. I had a battery leak :frowning: Guess that can happen with every kind of alkaline, this took a few months only… Ruined the light also.

All alkalines can leak and does it frequently.

The reason it was difficult to turn is probably because the battery released some gas and pressurized the light.

I know this, but it has never happened to me before - at least not that soon. Yeah, I guess so! There was also a lot of leakage that had dried up a bit, which was in the threads as well.
