I thought I might shine a little light on what I get from my Icharger 106b+ charger.
— ALL my test were discharged at .80 amps and down to 2.80 volts.—
First up - Keeppower Sanyo red cell(yes I confirmed it myself, made a small slice under the wrapper).
52.5mm long, 14.20mm narrowest, 14.50mm widest
Start voltage 4.19 volts = 751 mah 56.12 min.
2nd - Keeppower DLG? blue cell
51.85mm long, 14.27mm narrowest, 14.39mm widest
Start voltage 4.18 volts = 737 mah 55.09 min.
turd (ha ha) - Nitecore
51.65mm long, 14.20mm narrowest, 14.49mm widest
Start voltage 4.19 volts = 767mah 57.20 min.
4th - Zebralight
52.08mm long, 14.00mm narrowest, 14.23 widest
Start voltage 4.18 volts = 744mah 55.41 min.
O what the heck, I tested a 16340 Xtar battery also.
35.11mm long, 16.41mm narrowest, 16.53mm widest
start voltage 4.19 volts = 521mah 39.00 min.
I hope this helps some people out and remember this is what i get on some of the batteries that I have.
Thanks for looking
Do you or anyone else know exactly what battery is in a Nitecore 14500?
Thanks for posting your results, I also did a similar test on the nitecore 14500 and 16340 and come up with good results. I just don’t know what batteries they use. They are made in china.
I have to get me some unprotected Sanyo's to sample just out of curiosity. The Nitecore seems pretty good to me and did a little better than I thought it would do. I wonder if it's because they have been used a couple of times, discharged and charged. Does anyone know if LiPo's get better with some cycling under their belt?
You are very welcome. It is definitely not an HKJ test as he is the master at this kind of testing, but with all the Keeppower stuff lately I thought what the heck. I don't think the DLG ones are bad at all and still a very good battery.
I also have some grey protected Trustfire 14500 cells that I bought before I knew anything about what was out there. At the same time, I bought some grey protected Ultrafire 14500 cells. I haven't capacity tested them, but I can tell you that the Trustfire cells last about 3-4 times longer than the similar-looking Ultrafire cells. They were a good deal, problem is that you never really know what you're getting with these cells.
The Armytek CR123A's are non recharable but maybe I'll cut one open just to see what they look like. Now the Xtar 18650 3100 and the 3400's I put a small slice under the wrappers ,now my own batteries, just to make sure they are Panasonic's and of course they are. The 18700 2600 are the red Sanyo cell FM ones. On the 16340 Xtar's I don't have a clue what they are (I'll have to slice one open under the wrapper to see) but I think they are a pretty good battery especially for the money.
