Yeah, the yellow in the spill is a trademark of the XHP70.2 and all the other latest Cree LED’s.
Great comparison Charles. Was the MT09R on a low setting? I noticed it gets more rosy when you up the lumens. Where did you get your 219c emitters?

This one is for Bimmernut318 with 4000k P2 LED’s. I got the bypasses and LED swap done, just waiting on a driver now.
On the stock 4000k 80CRI 70.2, I remember the DC-fix eliminated some of the yellowish spill. The center was relatively rosy. I wish in the future you can mass order a 5A or 5D tint

Yes, the DC fix helps a lot with that, it blends it altogether. I much prefer a heavy OP reflector with the latest cree LED’s.
I am going to try a slightly different model of the 4000k 80CRI soon, it is possible it could be rosier. Like I said, it is a lottery exactly what each reel will look like until you try it.

I watch both shows. The new guy on top gear with the glasses left after one season and now they have 3 good hosts. Still, Clarkson, May and Hammond are the best.

I kinda want an AWD just for quick take offs in the wet, but I’m a sideways kind of guy. I loves me some drifting.
It is the G tint bin instead of the H tint bin. I have heard reports that even though it is a lower bin it has less yellow in the beam. Still an M4 flux bin and 80CRI. I just never messed with it before since it was “lower”. I am going to put it in my own MT03 I think to see what it looks like.
I saw this with the XHP50.2 awhile back but then forgot about it actually, a lower bin actually looked better in person.
Only way to know is to try it.

My 4runner with a supercharger, AWD, high stall auto and meth injection was a blast from a stop. It never lost a race to 40mph on the street. I could pull 1.8 60ft easy with just a little brake boosting and it sounded stock. I miss that supercharger. It surprised a lot of car.
My latest mouser order showed up and it included the E4 5000k XHP35 HD LED’s that Krash610 wanted to try in his light.
I think he made the right decision and I can’t wait to try the 80cri D4 4500k in mine.
Now with the driver swap, tailcap washer and LED swap it is doing an honest 7700 lumens with the new rating system.
None of that XHP70.2 tint shift either and the beam is really quite nice, a good combo of throw and flood. I can’t wait to see what it looks like tonight in the backyard.
The domes could be sliced for throw on par or better then the HI LED’s as well if tint shift want not a problem. Although personally I think it looks good like this. The 5000k tint is also quite nice, it is on the rosy side as well.

I see that’s the 3-step bin. You can end up with a rosier or even more yellowish tint. Curious to see how it goes.
4000k tint is too yellow for me. I do like blf gt 4000k tint with 2500 lumen… it’s not that bad…
Indeed, that is why I skipped it in the past but figure it is worth giving a try. If it is good then the whole reel is most likely about the same.
Yeah, the GT 4000k is a surprisingly pleasing tint, we got lucky on that one.
Oh yea. I forgot to mention one more. One led is brighter than other two ( on low mode ) with the haikelite firmware mt09r xhp35… people say thats normal. It did bother me. Lol…
After installing TA driver, the problem is gone…
Ok, got another light prepped for a driver. This one is for 808HI. He sent me an MT07S to mod, I got it converted to 2S and a 4000k 80CRI LED installed along with the tailcap spring.
I think the last light I have on hand for work is a MT03 for Man without shadow, I hope to get that one prepped tonight.
