The brightest flashlights to watch out for in 2022

.

Why not make the ms18 but with sfh55 emitters, that would be more than double the output but then you guys would lose the selling point of “American Cree led”

Your lights are very bright, some are the brightest. However much of the light is wasted. With that much output a round flashlight head puts much of the light into the ground and much into the space above the user. Make your output better shaped with a rectangular head. Your MS18 lines them up into a circle. Try a 3x6 18 led rectangle. Less light wasted over illumination your feet and that short space in front of the user. Less light wasted on the top half going into outer space. More light projected out front into the distance and more light to the sides.

I agree. Your company should revise the ms18 this year. Change it up, give us something new, reignite the spark again. It’s been close to two years now, no one will purchase the ms18 now, because it’s just a matter of time you guys will revise it or a whole new brighter might will be released shortly after.

How long can the light sustain 100,000 lumens?

@bort, knowing that the MS18 has to cool about 1000W of stuff in such a small form factor, I’d guess not for very long.

The MS18 really needs a complete cooling overhaul and an even denser battery pack in terms of power density and even energy density.

It’s gone in the blink of an eye, well almost. It holds it for about 1-2 second before a stepdown.

Any chance of an MS18 with SBT90.2 LEDs? Or perhaps even a high-CRI GT-FC40 option?

Not really a “budget” light though, is it? From the site:

“IMALENT MS18 Brightest Flashlight $669.95 USD”
