The Cypreus - II EDC Custom Copper Flashlight.

Truly impressive stuff  ! Imagine it with triple nichia 219b with star firmware…

I love your new edc sinner. I'll ask a couple of questions as well. What thread size did you go for and your switch. Is there magic inside it? I like the way there is no boot but not sure how it works. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, thread size is M22x1mm and the switch , its just a reverse clicky but with a custom made teflon housing and solid red-brass contacts.

Wow. I did not notice the switch. I like it. (see previous post)

Great job, put me on the waiting list.

Reminds me of Mac’s EDC lights from several years ago. Your machining 1st rate and build quality looks totally bomb-proof. Definitely NOT a budget build but great flashaholic porn.

Appreciate it, I’ll make some more lights/hosts in future. Thanks.

You also take some nice pics of your work, between your work and the pics showing it off you’ve got a lot of people drooling! (including Moi!)

I wanted to take some more pictures but I had already been hasty and couldnt wait to get it done and finally see some light. I had to dismantle it completely and rewire a new driver and led, good thing is I changed the led to a 4C tint which is really something impressive and the depth of field even in random photos is amazing, It will help me as a little photography light aswell. Thanks Dale, I’ll make sure i take a lots of pics of the build and progress. Have a cold one

I also like using a Nichia 219 for some lighting…

Thanks, don’t mind if I do…Cheers!

Excellent work! I think you should enter in the contest.

A contest, ummm… I should be able to do something new in 68 days otherwise i’ll just submit this as my entry.

OL, if you are going to let him enter, you should also allow other people to join as well, and put the word out. As most of us know, there was an entry deadline, and everyone assumes they can't join anymore. 68 days is alot of time left for people to join and build something.

Oh I didnt know the entries deadline has been passed, Thank you OL for the previlege.

I think perhaps there’s slim competition in the machine built category and O-L would like to add some sizzle to the competition. O-L’s call, it’s his game…

Can you tell us more about the tailcap? The transition looks seamless.

Remember those CPU heatsinks with copper stuffed in the core, I always wondered how the hell did the copper get in there. I finally cracked one open using a 5mm Mill Cutter, It was just that simple. No glue, paste, grease anything.(iirc) Just a precision fit.

The tailcap is bored out 0.01mm tighter than the brass insert, This is an interference fit or a press-fit as we know it. But the technical part is to get the measurements “just right” when you’re dealing with only a tenth of a millimeter you just dont have that headroom now do you? Sigh.

It is then hydraulic pressed to a point where the both surfaces are adjoint, facing on a lathe afterwards for the seamless finish.

I had access and some training of machine tools early on.

…I too have something new in my collection, a nice shiny copper EDC!

Gotta love how the tail cap is done, just gotta!

And it compliments it’s big brother and little cousin quite nicely

With a de-domed XP-G2 at 2.9A, it has a very nice beam profile on this reflector…very nice light!

Not a lot of small lights will throw 100 yds….it’s 97 yds to the red oil drum in the above picture. The light is running an AW IMR18350 cell.

Sweet work Sinner! Absolutely Love It!

Ah, that little cousin also looks so sweet!
