And flashlights are excellent light sources for cordless household bulbs
Thanks for showing!
Huh. say what?
They don’t need to be broken, just buy a cheapie new one, cut it and grind it down to the dimension you need. 10 minutes work.
The tops of lightbulbs are cool and seem to fit/or almost fit lights like the C8 .
Problem is it just becomes a DC powered light bulb and everyone knows what it's like to be in a room with just a bare bulb with no shade on a lamp .
This is exactly why I have issues with most lanterns .Unless it has a shade made out of fabric or one of those hard plastic ones most leds are too bright to want to be around . The problem with glare for me is probably complicated by the fact I wear glasses and am getting extra reflection of light as well.
I own and use all of the ones below and with either a wand diffuser or one like you're talking about off of a light bulb they make a nice light .
I'm still a huge fan of diffuser film stuck on the lens of a regular flashlight since you're 100% behind all diffusion if you're using the light in a normal way .
I also use multiple diffusers and will run flat film /a wand diffuser or a film cannister type.. then a shade
.
a decent plastic shade can be added to flashlights and easily be hung with a lanyard.
Found one of these lights broken so I grabbed all the shades off of it .
<<< This is one of the nicer ones I have. It has a Sand colored Convoy C8 in it . It looks great .
There are some small frosted glass diffusers about the size of the end of your thumb that came off of 50watt halogen track lighting .that fit on the end of some AA lights..kind of cute like a small candle .
The real question is what kind of leds are in them lightbulbs ?
wow, I salute you for your enthusiasm about Diffusers :+1: , members like you are what makes this forum unique. :+1:

you are welcome
everything from luxeon clones to xp-g2.
most use 2835,3030,5630 in 3-9 volt variants.
Indoors I just rely on ceiling-bounce, as I hate glare.
In my room, I have a “flowerpot” socket for decorative Ne bulbs (electrodes shaped like flowers, etc.) and just stuck a LED version of a MRxx bulb in there to shine straight up at the ceiling over a nice wide area. Talk about diffused…
A Q8 shining on the ceiling would be fine, but a layer of diffusion film might make it better.
Lanterns, yeah, too horizontal for my liking. Too easy to get in my sightline.
