The Fall/Winter 2013 season

Well, I love those MT-G2's too, looking forward to your builds with it :-) I'm sure there will be funds for them, the way you mentioned or any another way.

Kind of sad to hear, but just a common sense dose of reality. I had talked to relic38 about the impact of the MT-G2 and arrays, though he didn’t really comment, I had wondered if we weren’t heading into the 100 watter arena, soon. Possible driving 9 xmls at 3 amps/ea. or better, but arrays will be the future, probably. We are kind of hitting the wall at being able to drive these monster lights, and power them without a combination of serial and parallel battery configurations, which could theoretically lead us to our first serious injury or worse. Not good to think about, but the power requirements will probably go exponential. When dealing with 100 watters, the game gets a bit expensive, and risky, not really budget or (Safe and Sane). Well, OL, hope you stay in the game, kind of hard to quit “Cold Turkey” when you are a “True Blue Flashaholic.” Well don’t really know what to say, rather awkward … but I am sure you will “keep up” on the reading and technology, even if you cut back, a bit, on the mods…BR…BLF…

We are already there. The Fandyfire 9 XM-L only needs less resistance (upgrade wires and springs) and and high drain batteries.

That could be combined with this, then you have a nice option to a triple MT-G2.

It’s difficult to imagine this forum without you and your steady output of work. (well, easy to imagine, hard to come to grips with). The future is always dark to me but I can usually anticipate at least getting by. It’s been better lately than the last several years but job security has never been high for me so I often get the urge to hunker down and stop spending. I do hope your future brightens again and you can continue to share your time with us. It’s a good day when OL posts a new mod and there just isn’t anyone else here that can hold a lumen to you and your imagination. As far as leds go, I appreciate your enchantment with the MT-G2 but must respectfully suggest that each individual light makes its own argument for a particular led(or leds) and that with advancement even the MT-G2 will be surpassed by better(and hopefully less expensive leds) so please don’t close the door completely.

When you rock, we roll.

O-Ls retiring? Time to put my O-L lights up on ebay and retire myself. :stuck_out_tongue:

NEVER! Because Gords said it best…

If you happen to change your mind, my 2000 post is coming up and I long ago promised to giveaway a Rook as penance for goofing around in the’s review of that light. I was pondering how great it would be to have you whip up another one similar to the one I have. I guess I’m a day late and a dollar short in asking.

Well, if that Rook is destined to get an MT-G2 in it, I guess I couldn’t refuse something like that, could I?Innocent

We would be lost here without your generosity, knowledge, and skill set. You need to make lights.... ANY light.... ANY way you want to make them / it. WE need you to make lights. You can't spoil us and then quit.... CAN'T !!!!

Just do your "OL Thing" we all look forward to many more creative, well executed mods. WAITING!!!

Dan.

PM headed your way soon. We’ll talk turkey.
