In the end, there is a discussion question for you.
Both Cyansky K3 and Cyansky P25 are tactical flashlights, P25 features a better floodlight with higher brightness, and K3 features a better spotlight and much longer beam distance. Which model do you prefer? (Come and guess the photo below, which side is the lighting effect of P25, which is K3?) :sunglasses:

Which I prefer always depends on the intended use at the time. If I could only have 1 flashlight period, it would be a balance between spot and flood, but fortunately, I do not need to choose just 1. I now have about 200 flashlights of higher quality. I am becoming much more selective though, and a light needs something unique now for me to pull the trigger. I just do not need just another 1000 meter thrower, or 10,000 lumen flood. It has to have something more to make it preferable to the others I already have. I actually am considering having a big sell-off of some nearly never used models.
If I could only have one… I would be screwed! For night walking, I really like a light with a good mix of flood/brute for throw. For me this has become the Convoy S11 or M21b with the 4500k FC40 emitter. I love the S2’s with an op reflector as well. But, my work light has a bit more throw for increase range, it is an FW1A with an LH351D. So, the simple answer, no one light can be universal.
I really like it when manufacturers tell me what color temperature the LED is and when they offer options other than cool white. Please stop with the self-defense claims. Palm size? Really? I’ll keep looking but I don’t see anything in your lineup that interests me yet. Marketing phrases such as tactical, police, search and rescue, self-defense, are only going to appeal to the 13-year-olds that don’t have a credit card.
Thanks for your opinion, sarge. I like your point that which one prefers always depends on the intended use at the time. The collectors may also worry that they have collected too much. Follow us, maybe you could find something you want to collect in the near future. :sunglasses:
There will always be some disagreement as to what constitutes “tactical” characteristics in a light. Primarily, the purpose of a “tactical light” is to illuminate a threat or threat zone, with the added possibility of temporarily, adversely affecting a targets vision or orientation. Single tailswitch, forward momentary/clicky, two modes (ON/OFF), 450 - 800 lumens, cool/neutral white (respectively) with a balanced spot/spill and 50 meters of throw is what I consider purpose built for “tactical” deployment. Grossly crenelated bezels, glass breakers, etc. are useless marketing crap IMO. YMMV.
