Don’t watch if you are squeamish
Mother nature is a cruel mistress.
Those big lizards are just too Jurassic Park for me.
I’ve seen other videos of them before - eating all kinds of critters - but this one - Oh man…
It’s the audio that chills me.
If this is not suitable. Let me know and I’ll delete it.
All the Best,
Jeff
The still image is enough to not click on the play button.
Crap, did not even take a bite. Swallowed it whole.
Yeah - not for the faint of heart. Definitely not Disney’s version of nature.
All the Best,
Jeff
I remember a Komodo Dragon had a starring role in the movie “the Freshman” with Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick many moons ago…
I dont dare hit the play button. The still frame and my imagination are more than enough. Actually, the most fearful element is what must be the audio track. No way possible i could erase the memory of that.
Eat or be eaten. Mother Nature is a cruel mistress.
BTW thanks for sharing your humor, Jeff!
Cheers!
Yeah, I don’t ever want to see a Komodo Dragon in person. After seeing what their saliva can do, I’m keeping as far away from one as I can.
Only if I get to bring the big rifle…
All the Best,
Jeff
A friend of mine from high school told me he wanted a pet Komodo Dragon.
I thought he was kidding, but his family said that he was serious.
Now he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, and works as a veterinarian.
He has a lot of pets, but I don’t think he could legally own a Komodo Dragon.
You can actually get smaller versions like a Savannah Monitor from Africa. Gets to about 6 feet in a big enclosure. Those are legal as far as i know. Keeping large reptiles like that is not for the faint of heart though…best reserved for experts (like veterinarians or herpitologists) and those with the time, space and $$$ for it.
Once saw a program on TV where a Komodo Dragon met a big Buffalo. The Dragon only grazed the Buffalo and waited for the saliva to do its job. The Buffalo died, standing tall and mighty and then just keeled over.
That is really disturbing… you are right , the audio. Makes me cringe. Poor little goat.
But yes, nature, survival of the fittest, eat or be eaten. It is the way it is. Most of us are just so sheltered from it that it is hard to watch.
And yeah, I hope to never see one of those lizards in person… at least not without the trusty elephant gun at the ready…
Dont be so disturbed, its the way most of the world functions. Seriously, think about it. Imagine that dragon is Walmart.
Not so much the concept of getting eaten. Big cats do this, wolves do it. Heck my dog does it. But they kill before eating. It is over quickly.
I have never found this particularly disturbing
It is the getting swallowed whole and being alive inside that thing for a good period of time. Listen to the goat bleating until the end of the video.
Now that is disturbing!
Survival of the fittest, eat or be eaten, the way of nature…but then we come to our house cat(s). My cat’s “torment” area is right in front of the window where I sit at my computer. She brings in mice and chipmunks, sometimes small squirrels and even a couple weasels. Doesn’t kill them right away, deposits them on the ground and then turns away, yawns and pretends she’s lost interest. Once they regain their strength, they make a futile run for the woods but it’s no use. She’s on them and drags them back to her arena. They succumb eventually and she’ll eat the front half of the poor critter and leave the rest.
Now this is a well fed cat that reminds me when her dish is down below half. The Komodo dragon has nothing on her when it comes to cruelty.
Don’t watch a video of a monkey eating another monkey.
Check your city bylaws. It’ll vary from place to place. I can’t own venomous snakes in my city, but if I drive <1 mile to the next town over I can have cobras
That there Komodo sounds like a goat…
And I thought the seagull eating a pigeon was nasty.
Too bad they only have hooves and not claws. If I were clawed and swallowed whole like that, I’d be doing my best impression of The Alien.
This one was finger-lickin’ good, though.
Its head popped right off .
That’ll make a nice steak pile later.
Not exactly nature. That’s a young domesticated goat that’s possibly been drugged a little bit so it’s not too afraid that thing. Read a few of the comments under the video. Watch a few of the other videos. The dragon always ends up going towards the man-made fence. So it’s in some type of an enclosure and it gets fed different animals on a regular basis.
