The Nebo Classic

I don't normally post topics on new lights from manufacturers, but this one is rather unique - made to look like vintage light.

640 lumens. I actually ordered one. Nebo has some of the more cool advertising videos. For this light, one of the videos shows grandpa working on a classic Mustang as his son gives him The Classic.

This is supposedly a limited edition, only for Father's Day, no more to be made.

Hopefully grandpa doesn’t shine it at anything reflective in the engine bay. They could’ve made it with a 3 position switch with one direction offering a low mode.

Nah, it’s a non-zoomie with convex lens, so spreads out light a whole lot.

Should be a pretty decent beam, as long as it ain’t Angry Blue™.

They wanna make it “vintage”, they should definitely make it 3000K, though.

Thanks for the link, I like the looks.
Let us know how it works once you have it, please.

While we are discussing tint - what would be the “ideal” tint for car/engine bay/ chassis work and is CRI relevant for garage stuff?

thanks.

after reading this I went to Nebo’s site and spent a bit of time checking out some lights. Fun.

This may be the kind of light my wife will like - she likes simple (intuitive and something similar to what she grew up with).

On the Cheesy scale, where does this one rate?

My parents will like this light. It’s so simple and similar to the flashlights we used from several decades ago. I wonder if the LED can be swapped.

I used to work somewhere that sold Nebo. They're addicted to the aspheric lenses and the angry blue immitation-Cree LEDs. For a while, many of their flashlights were slightly-better-quality versions of super common generic Chinese lights. But I opened a lot of their lights (used to warranty and destroy-in-field), and have never been impressed with anything I've found within.

I still like my Twyst, but that's at least 2/3 sentimental.
