Tesla has been using 18650 batteries for cars
As far as I know, the Tesla 18650 battery previously known is NCR18650HCL, about 3350mah. There may be an earlier version of Panasonic battery
At present, the latest version of battery is NCR18650T1 3400mah,has more capacity and power than the old version of NCR18650HCL,possible more cycle life.
In terms of positive pole, the old version HCL was inverted triangle and had three legs, the new version T1 is round and has three hidden legs
In terms of negative electrode, both batteries have circles, which is a safety device
As we all know, Panasonic customized the battery for Tesla, which is dedicated to the vehicle. It needs very excellent consistency and high-quality cycle life. It is estimated that it will be more than 1000 or even thousands of times.
Tesla has various programs to control the battery temperature, charging program and output program to ensure longer service life
At the same time, the quantity used is huge and the unit price should be affordable. Therefore, the battery is expected to use ternary lithium battery NCA material to replace lithium cobalt oxide
None of these tesla batteries are found to have specifications at present
NCR18650T1 has a capacity similar to that of NCR18650GA, LG MJ1 and Samsung 35e
T1 is a little more powerful than the latter
