The There Are No Stupid Questions Thread

By setting the floor at level 1 and ceiling at level 150. It’s in the 7H menu, first and second item, clic one time for each.

My bad.

FW21 is Anduril 1… I’m not sure if I have that option like I do with my K1, which is Anduril 2

What about Anduril 1? Can that FULL ramp be accomplished with that? Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it’s one of the base features of Anduril, only the shortcut to the ramp config menu is different : Anduril 1 Manual · Ivan: Thinking

Yes. 4H from on. Same execution to input. Ist flash/stutter click once (bottom of ramp 1). Second flash /stutter click once (top of ramp 150)

Ok… thank you both.

I will still be able to access Turbo with double clicks right?

I try this by 10 times and it doesn’t work. Maybe I’m misinterpreting part of it? What do you mean same execution to input? I click four times from on held it and nothing happened.

Thx

Nothing’s ever easy for me.

You stated to hold after four clicks and I did not work. I tried 10 times.

So I tried it without holding and it went through the sequence with the flutters and it seems like I programmed it now it’s in Turbo only

My bad…it IS 4C from on, not 4H, sorry. Clicking once during the first flash, flicker should set bottom of ramp to the lowest level. Clicking once during the second flashes (flash, flash, flicker) should set top of ramp to highest level. The flickering is your que to click to set the levels.

Thanks for your help.

Four clicks from on only resulted in it being stuck in Turbo for a while. Then I got it but it was a stepped ramp which is basically five modes with the last one being turbo the one before is high. That does me no good! Because I want to utilize the output between High and turbo…, smooth ramp.

I set thermal configuration to 70c three times and that didn’t work and I know I did it right because I’ve done that with three other lights. It’s stepped down in 20 seconds. There’s no way it was $158° F in 20 seconds. I can hold the light in my hands.

Long story short and it’s been too long already! I think there’s something going on with the firmware. I mean I’m no expert but it’s malfunctioned too many times I’m done with it! I am Sending the light back.:grin:

Is there a way to hide threads on this platform? I’ve nothing against any of them, I just see some bubble up now and then that I don’t really care about, pushing threads I do care about beneath them

Edit: geez, forgot there was a search function lol. Figured it out:

Highly appreciated I will definitely try that

I keep trying until I can get an answer!

Tom E. Modified my K1 and upgraded it to Anduril 2.

As soon as the tail cap is activated the switch light comes ON. That light stays ON while the light is in use. In other words, always ON unless of deactivation.

Just got the FC13. Programmed everything to my liking. However the light on the switch only stays ON when the light is OFF. Why wouldn’t it stay ON like my k1 when I’m using the light?

It’s the same firmware. Anduril 2

Thx

Most likely because they used the TS25 firmware made for front facing optics that turn off when the main LED is ON.
This isn’t configurable in the UI, only by changing a parameter in the firmware and flashing.

Edit : ~gabe/flashlight-firmware/anduril2 : contents of ToyKeeper/spaghetti-monster/anduril/cfg-wurkkos-ts25.h at revision 631

// don’t turn on the aux LEDs while main LEDs are on
#ifdef USE_INDICATOR_LED_WHILE_RAMPING
#undef USE_INDICATOR_LED_WHILE_RAMPING
#endif

Removing that should do.

Late update, but I did find something that kind of works eventually. After I trapped and relocated a couple initially it was clear I would need to have essentially a skunk execution assembly line to make a dent in the population.

The most humane ways I came up with where they wouldn’t spray, never used any of them, but they would’ve been either a trap that was water tight so I could just put a hose up top when a skunk was caught. I didn’t love that, drowning takes a minute. Or a trap that was air tight, and then I would’ve piped in CO2. This is actually how most captured wildlife and lab animals are euthanized, and done right it’s as humane as it gets. No pain, not even a stress response.

But it seemed risky and complicated. So instead what I did was try and find the source. My dog hates skunks and when we went for walks at night she would find the skunks and remember where she had seen them previously, and let you know. It didn’t take long to see a pattern and find where the most skunks congregated. That narrowed down the search radius’, and from there it didn’t take long to find the source. Then I’d just call the city on them.

It goes against everything I believe in. I don’t call anything on anybody, do whatever you want. But there were so many skunks it was my only option. And these houses were bad. I only reported the worst of the worst. The main skunk population hubs. Some had hidden their garbage well, but where there’s skunks theres fire lol. Even if I couldn’t see it, the dog knew, so I’d call and the city would come and find their entire backyard was just trash. Idk what kind of fines they got but one house the city came with an excavator and legit just took their whole yard, front and back, rather than pick it all up. And then later came back and put down a new one lol.

There was about 5-6 houses like that and when they were cleaned up it took care of maybe 2/3rds of the skunks. So far. Which is pretty good progress i think

Does a Vapcell F14 18350 1400mAh 3A provide enough amps for a Thrunite Catapult Mini V2 ?

It has SFT40 LED

I am using Vapcell M11 18350 9A.

If F14 provides enough amps I May benefit from slightly more capacity.

SFT40 draws up to 11A, you’ll have better performance using the 9A M11 cell.

Does anybody know if the Mi Boxer C4-12 is still in production?

The question is Not can you still get them because I just got Two.

I’m wondering if they still make them or the ones available have been sitting around for a few years?

Edit: I found their website and emailed them. There are no chargers on that website. They seem to be lighting devices.

More lithium ion fires coming up in the news.

I wonder… if a vast majority of these happen with built-in charging devices where the maker is substandard and the owner completely unaware of the risks?

I have heard of those wheeled “hoverboard” devices causing Liion fires, probably due to poorly regulated oversight of the manufacturer… and some customer ends up drawing the short-straw on the defect lottery.

I would hope that for most of the major flashlight brands that are popular around here, the built-in charging integrity is high enough that a flashlight plugged in to charge and forgotten for many days would be a non-issue. At this point, there should be trickle charge safeguards to prevent a battery from getting overcharged.

About 5 years ago, I gave a relative an Olight flashlight with magnetic charging (came with a charging base) and they let the flashlight sit on that charger most of the time… even though I’ve suggested they take it off once fully charged. Yet they’ve never had any issues. But I’m not confident to give any built-in charging flashlights as gifts from lesser known brands.

Why does Dawn dishwashing detergent seem to be better than all others? Can no one else figure out how to make it?
