Update everyone! For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m the one who’s been importing most of these in the US. I’ve forwarded probably $5k worth at this point. I’ve been in talks with XBY (the driver manufacturer) for a while now and I have some great news! Number one, I have worked with him to make a revised UI, more akin to Anduril. It now has 1h moon, 3c batt check, 3h strobe, 4c lockout, and 6c ramp/step toggle. These are some quality of life changes I know many of us will appreciate, especially since 4c lockout is common and i bet many of you accidentally did 4c and blinded yourself with strobe lol. Flashing it is technically easy but will require some hardware. First thing is a usb-serial adapter. There are countless options on the market, but ch340 is a super common one that will work fine, these are just a few dollars. Second, you will need a SOP8 4.4mm probe. I will link the ones I used, but its not too hard to figure out. Basically trace the pads of the probe/adapter and make sure you’re sending power to the V and G pads (positive and ground) and then the T pad on the driver will go to the Rx pin on the usb-serial adapter, and the R pad to the Tx pin. Once you have downloaded the software provided below there will be a password locked zip folder. The password is in the file name. Then it will contain 3 files. One file is just instructions. Then 2 files labeled v4.2 default settings (self explanatory) and the other file is the new ui. You will have to change the file extension to _.exe. Then double click/run that file. The language will be mostly Chinese but the important buttons are English. Then you click start, touch the probe to the pads, wait a few seconds, and its done!
Second good news! He is working on an Anduril 2 driver!! The ETA on this is unknown. This will be the same as the existing v4.2 driver (50a buck + ~300a fet). The downside is I may need help from some experienced Anduril devs with adding fan support. If this is within your capabilities, dm me! Sadly this will require a new mcu and therefore a new driver, not as easy as flashing since the current mcu doesnt support Anduril. More info on this as it becomes available. anduril doesn’t support digital buck, it’s easier to tweak his existing ui than fix all of andurils problems
Update, September 6th. I have received new ui by popular demand. The new ui shortens the hold duration to access moon, allows ramping up from moon, and adds a buck only option for configs with weaker emitter(s) (like single emitter throwers). There’s also many behind the scenes improvements. The new firmware is available on my Google drive. Flashing process is the same. And there’s a firmware with a raised moon level to prevent flicker.
This only works with the 47mm v4.2 driver! Do not flash any other drivers with it!
