Hi all,

I’m new in the forum. How are you all?

I’m looking for the best flashlight/torch regarding to my preferences.

I have been doing my research on the internet for the last a few days.

At the end of my research I have come across a few products which I’d like to mention.

Thrunite TN40S
Acebeam K60/65
Fenix TK75

What matters most to me is the constant light output until the end of the runtime.

I hope you can help me find what I’m looking for.

I am open to any suggestions.

Thank you in advance,
Cheers!

P.S. Above you can find my original post. Now I think I narrowed it down to 2 models. Would you mind sharing your thoughts?

I am also thinking about K70 now because it is a spectacular flashlight/torch but one thread at another forum scared me about ACEBEAM products.

Thanks.

Acebeam k65 looks like the light I would purchase. There customer service and reliability are great. Acebeam x65 is also a good all round flashlight. Unfortunately not for your wallet haha. I have a k60 and love it but I would trade it in for a k65 if I had the option.

Thank you for your input.

I’d like to know your thoughts about Acebeam K60. Does it run at a constant luminosity at the highest setting?

I’ve never ran it for more than 30 minutes on turbo. I never noticed a drop in brightness but I did notice the adjustment ring got quite hot. I feel that the build quality is of the best from a Chinese manufacturer.
If you want a powerful light, check out the Tn40svn.

Thank you very much for your response. Is TN40SVN thrunite? On their website I see that there is TN40S but what does VN stand for?

How about the BLF Q8? Great value for under $50. I think it can sustain 2k lumens - to be confirmed.

Thank you for your contribution.

I would appreciate more opinions. Cheers.

I see the lights you are looking at are searchlights. If are using one of these running at max output for an extended period you will more than likely have temperature issues. These more expensive lights prolly have built in temperature protection and will step down if they become hot. If you can find a way to keep them cool during extended runs you will get constant lumen output. Otherwise they will get hot, step down slightly until cool and them go back to max output. You may want to look at more details on their websites and contact the manufacturer to verify this, but I doubt you will, find a high power search light type flashlight that will keep max lumen output until the batteries run out. Just my two cents. Good luck sir.

Thank you very much Matthew. That was really informative and helpful. I was confused about the step downs.

Cheers.

Type skylumen and type is TN40SVN on your search engine.
Yes it’s thrunite, kinda…

Thrunite TN40S and Fenix TK75
I don’t like both , petal beam profile.
.
Acebeam K65
I don’t like it , ugly three colors beam profile (new gen LEDs XPL2 XHP50.2/70.2 ).
pic here
.
So, I will waiting for new gen CREE LEDs.

You will be waitin for awhile then. They just released the xpl2 and the xhp70.2. We just got the Oslon black and the sst40. What else are you waiting for?

one die LED, such as bigger die than XML2.
Maybe XHP40? XHP80? XML3? XML4?

Interesting idea. I don’t see a point to have a larger single die led though. My thoughts are that if you use a larger die it should produce more lumens but throw will be sacrificed because of die size compared to
The reflector size. So if you were to use the one large die for a light you might as well go with the xhp70.2 with a orange peel reflector.

Thank you. The link you provided enlightened me about the bad beam profile. I don’t like it. Maybe the best option would be to stick with K60 after all.

I figured that vn is modded verdion of the original which I would not want. In any case of repair I would like to send it somewhere in Australia.

If you are concerned about repairs, stick to a local dealer, or go to a manufacturer’s website. Local dealers often refuse to repair lights you buy “on the internet”. Of course they don’t do that just to cause you trouble ( :smiling_imp: ). Is seems there are manufacturers that send only spare parts to dealers in a quantity that matches the sales of those dealers. And they don’t send them to sellers who only deal in clearances. Good luck in trying to get some warranty from the last ones. Are they even selling the real deal?

I contacted Acebeam, Imalent and ThruNite before to locate an official distributor. Liteshop in Australia is what they addressed me. Hopefully it does the job.

Cheers.

Don’t but an Imalent lol. You really must want to ship a light back for repair lol. You are one picky person.
