With the P60 Hex Bezel P35 Body (18350)
and the Tailcap - DPC HA Black with Silver Clip
with the v5 XPL High Intensity 4000K + Red
I am active-duty military, and I would like a hard-use light.
A buddy lent me a Surefire Aviator with red secondary. I loved it, but thought it was too dim (250 Lumens) for my purposes.
1. How pocketable is this light for EDC?
2. Does anyone have any pictures of this configuration?
I'm using and carry flashlights only at work (aircraft maintenance) and they are in leg side pocket, sometime in the jacket. I wouldn't carry anything bigger than AAA size in my regular pants pockets...
I had a lot of fun with P60s, feeding my addiction also. I just think, as Scallywag alluded to, that it is an older platform, and there are better choices now.
I like P60’s. I think Oveready’s are wickedly high priced though. I’m sure they are mighty fine lights but, damn, that’s expensive.
I have a few KDLitker P60’s. Very nice and super affordable. I think they even have them in 21700 format now. Lots of P60 dropins with almost an unlimited amount of driver/emitter combos.
It’s a great affordable way to mess about, finding out what you like and don’t like. Look how long the Convoy S2+ has been around. Great platform for honing your modding skills.
I think you have a wonderful idea. If you got the spare change for the Oveready P60 then go for it but, if you won’t enjoy it because you are worried about damaging an expensive light, then I’d find some cheaper alternatives.
I had of of their P60 cooling head with a solarforce body, Oveready stuff are very well built and will most likely outlast the emitter tech inside, and I ended up selling it because of this.
I also tried to buy their BOSS flashlight for many years but was never available, and now that it is in stock the emitter and driver tech inside is becoming a bit irrelevant.
I would go for a high quality and reliable drop-in like the Malkoff M61 that was already mentioned. Most hosts are good quality and you could always replace a cheaper host if it gets damaged.
P60 is still my favourite platform as you can adjust your configuration fairly easy if needed.
