I’ve also got a BL13 to review and I’m similarly impressed by it. The light itself is excellent, I’ll happily use it without hesitation. The battery needs a little care, i.e. don’t go riding in the rain. I can’t fault the charger aside from it having the wrong pins on it for the UK. I’ve got a good few foreign adapters which are compliant with the relevant standards so that will be what I use with this.
I haven’t had time to look at in fine detail but I like the fact that it has two LEDs with different profiles that point in slightly different directions, i.e. the XM-L2 points horizontally while the XP-G2 points down slightly, that means things closer to you are illuminated less intensely and things further in the distance get the majority of the light projected toward them. You can have either LED on, on its own or both together, again its a nice touch.

I’ve just been looking at the “foreign” adapters that came with the BL13 and one (black) is better than the other (white). The good news is that both have insulated pins (live and neutral)
The “black one” has a plastic earth pin, it doesn’t have a socket on the back for an earth pin to plug into. It is fused however it has a 13A fuse which is larger than you typically get on shaver adapters. It doesn’t have shuttering on the socket and the metal contacts are about 5mm below the surface, I can’t get my fingers in but small fingers might go in.
The “white one” has no fuse, however it has a proper earth pin. The contacts are more recessed than on the other one, perhaps 15mm beneath the surface.
All the adapters are non bs1363 compliant and are potentially lethal, FAT fingers make them safe?? small fingers getting to live conductors!! perhaps there should be a finger size warning, all are trash adapters and the charger non compliant and have been responsible for fires across the country! how much does it cost to get the correct ones supplied? NONE meet any UK safety standard.
Mine arrived yesterday, DOA, it won’t charge and won’t even switch on, I’ll be taking it to work tomorrow to run a tester over the circuits but not a good start out of the box.
I teach PAT Testing and run equipment safety testing for a large organisation, there is no excuse for supplying adapters like this trading standards spends a lot of money trying to rid the marketplace of this rubbish, if you cannot meet BS1363 then don’t sell it.
It is not wrong to be honest. Sometimes it can be painful but it is your reputation at stake here- they chose to taint theirs by supplying unsafe adapters. So do the review honestly and let the problems and virtues be known. Thorfire may not like it but the rest of the world will support you.
I can’t see a good explanation for supplying two foreign adapters. It’s possible that they listened to your concerns but didn’t understand them, hence including the second foreign adapter because the first wasn’t up to spec.
