Where would the third wire go? Everything about this driver appeals to me to upgrade some old Luxeon L2Ps, but that third wire has me stumped.

do u have the driver ?? if u do i would power it and see if its not a 2nd ground wire ?? just a guess though
No, I don’t have it. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s appropriate.
Aren’t those drivers used in magnetic control ring lights?
“CONNECTION: The two clear output wires are connected together and either one of them can be used for LED -ve. The circuit has a common ground ie, negative input and negative output are the same. (Checked with the continuity function on a DMM) The second clear output wire is for attachment to the body of the light (for negavite input) if such a connection is required.”
Thank you - I completely missed that!
I emailed hank and he said
The red one is the positive one (to the LED), one silver is the negative(to the LED)
and the other silver (the highest/longest) is the negative input from the batteries.
The 3rd wire is used to make contact with a pill in the case where the negative outer edge
of the driver cannot touch the pill. In this case the black thermal grease makes that impossible
so the ground wire will have to be soldered to the pill or anything that leads to the negative(cathode) from the batteries
