The Thrunite Archer Pro is a new small compact AA sized flashlight based on the design of the Archer Mini. The Archer Pro features the Cree XP-L2 emitter in cool white, which is rated for 1022 lumens on turbo mode. The beam profile is one large hotspot with usable spill thanks to the shallow orange peel reflector. Included in the package is a USB-C cable, pocket clip, and user manual.
The light is rechargeable via the included USB-C cable. One feature I really appreciate is the charging port is accessed by unscrewing the head to reveal the port. This is an upgrade from the rubber charging flaps as this helps improve water protection. Since it has onboard charging, this light is a great gift idea to non-flashaholics. The rear switch button is aluminum with very little travel. The switch is a little slippery but provides a satisfying click. The light did not turn on accidentally during normal use. The Archer Pro features updated small knurling on the body which improves the grip compared to the Archer Mini. The pocket clip is basically deep carry and provides great retention in the pocket and serves the light well.
The UI is very simple as its a ramping user interface. A single press turns the light onto the last used mode. When in ramping, holding down the switch will slowly ramp to a higher or lower brightness. A double click from on or off will activate the 1022 lumen turbo mode. A triple click will activate strobe. You can activate lock out mode if you hold the switch when in moonlight mode, another hold when off will unlock the light. The high mode (infinity high) is rated for 478 lumens with a runtime of 1 minute until it steps down to 208 lumens for 150 lumens. Infinity low is rated at 13 lumens for about 37 hours.
The Thrunite Archer Pro is a simple, compact, small light for those interested in a simple EDC light for daily needs.
Things I like:
- 1022 lumens out of a tiny light
- USB-C protected by unscrewing head
- Nice design with updated knurling
Things I don’t like:
- Internal battery (I would prefer a replacement Li Ion battery)
- Ramping is too slow
- Outdated Cree XP-L2 emitter with noticeable tint shift
