Interesting beam. It’s bright, very bright, no doubt about that.
For me the first picture is the most visible one. In the last picture I see one big bright white area. In the first picture I see what the garage door actually looks like. The best part, for me is in the spill.
I even have that problem with my 650lm flashlight. Lot’s of lumen is great when lighting up an large area. But when detail is needed, like reading the label on an paint can in the basement it blinds me.
If the OP deems this question off-topic then I’ll start another thread…
What can be done to make the whole garage door as visible as in the four corners of the first picture? Less lumens? More floody? Different tint? Higher CRI? Maybe a different color like green? Something else?

Sounds like what you’re describing is the hotspot “washing out” the subject. You need a triple, quad, or multi-emitter in a TIR optic, (pure flood - no concentrated hotspot) Astrolux MF01 219C maybe?

I recently got one of these with Nichia 219C 5700K (tint is pure white) 720lm so no where near as bright as this TC20, but it’s no slouch either, and great for reading those paint cans JAXMAN-E2L-3LED-TIR-LENS-flashlight-18650
