Time to build a new light, I need LEDs!

Greetings!

I will build some new lights for my office, using these nice aluminium profiles.

The idea is to put either 24V LED strips inside, or a metal core PCB with custom LEDs. JLCPCB now manufactures these at pretty good prices, so it’s an option.

I want variable CT in a wide range, and that seems to be too much to ask! Since I put the Yuji LEDs in the living room, I’ve been hooked. I put 1800-2700-5000K LEDs, and I really like the warmer option late at night. 1800K is very nice at low light levels. 3000K is nice at medium levels, and 5000K is nice at full power.

But… I made a mistake: I put the same number of LEDs on each color temperature. So I never use the 1800K LEDs at full power, and I don’t have enough power at 5000K.

Most strips, whether flexible or metal core, seem to be a variant of 2700-6000K with the same number of LEDs on both, so it’s the same problem.

Thus I’m looking for LEDs with a reasonable price tag, obtainable, high CRI, in the 1800K to 5000K range. The plan is to make custom metal core PCBs with the appropriate number of LEDs of each color temperature.

Any suggestions?..
