I miss my Nichia led...

That's it, I'm done, it's now up for sale. I am taking a break from "driven lights". I will be doing a few direct drive lights next.

Woah Justin you really made this maglite sexy! Congrats on the build!

beautiful beam pattern! Bit too pretty for me though, I’d spend too much time worrying about scratching it

That is a beautiful beam. What bin & tint XM-L is that?

-Garry

I have no idea. It came with a couple other items and I don’t remember the tint, LOL. I didn’t mark it down. I figure somewhere in the 5700k to 6100k range, but I don’t know the exact tint.

Hey OL, I’m positive you love the barrage of questions every build nets you…here’s another.

What reflector did you use, and how does it rate (empirically and depth/diam.) against the Mag Rebel reflector?

http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1429

More shallow than a maglite incan reflector, definitely more shallow than a rebel.

http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1372 That one is the one I use in place of a Rebel reflector.

Thanks for the links. I’ve been wanting a metal reflector similar to the Rebel. I have to try that and the 48x58mm (diam X depth) beauty as well.

edit: my mistake the very deep one is only 42x58mm
Still would be worth a shot for an XR-E thrower.

2nd edit: description states 48x58mm. I’m not crazy but I reckon it’s 42x58.

58mm deep x 42mm diameter, is correct. Deeper than it is in diameter. Might be a good thrower, or it might be good for a tiny megaphone, LOL. Too deep for a maglight, even a LED maglight. It would take a bunch of modding to do that one.

Wow, man, watta light   Congrats, Ol’, you’ve did it… again

Thanks for taking the additional time to document your builds. There’s a bit more than just patience and eye though. Nice work!
