Titanium Convoy S2 ???

Hello,

As I’ve seen in this thread the spanish lang forum, looks like Convoy is releasing a “Ti” S2
Acording to the seller’s website, the flashlight material is “Titanium”, but as Trevilux spotted, the picture of the thread section is a bit suspicious.

Is there any chance that the seller’s using a “stock” picture of a Titanium anodizing color flashlight to advertise an upcoming actual Titanium S2 ir is it just bait?

BR&Thanks!

Isn’t that rather cheap for TI in this size?
Seems they refer to color. Would expect J-Dub74 to announce such special Convoy not a Banggood listing.

Gotta be color!

I think they messed up with color because Convoy call this Titanium grey. And the product said it has 8x7135 driver but on the pics it has no 7135s on battery side so the max is 4x7135.

Since when did the convoy s2 have xpl-hi, so maybe not stock convoy s2
But i don’t think there will be Ti version, just too expensive( and i haven’t seen convoy has copper version of their light)

I find it’s odd that this doesn’t appear on the Convoy AliExpress site when it’s apparently a product with a new feature - titanium construction - but it has been listed on Banggood.

The other thing that’s odd is that it has a smooth reflector and and XPL-HI option, which I’ve not noticed Convoy offering with their tube lights. Maybe it’s an experimental run which Convoy sold off to Banggood?

I wouldn’t take the Banggood listing at face value.

I think that’s definitely it b/c in no way does bare titanium look like that

Sounds like “click bait”. Titanium is such a cool buzzword nowadays.

I guess I have 3 ti lights I didn’t know about

S2 is one of my favorite lights …Probably because of the xml/5C tint

Yeah, take a look at the battery tube threads that mate to the head. Appears to be unfinished (bare aluminum) vs the rest of the light (anodized).

From that product page link:

No one’s in any doubt about what the listing says, the question is, “Do we believe it?”.

I have come across product listings before which have turned out not to be entirely accurate.

Although I don’t think a 20-30$ light is made of titanium, the bare thread is not a proof that it’s aluminum. The body could be beadblasted but threads are always kept raw with this treatment.

88g = way too light to be Ti
