Interesting thread. I tend to agree with MRsDNF because some lights are not worth having if they are not modded.

Out of curiosity, what’s so good about the EE X6 ? I don’t mind single 18650 lights but when they have a big head I think why not have a slightly fatter tube and go 26650? Is it for hunting?

Also, I feel this thread is lights every flashaholic must have or have had to get a grasp on where flashlight technology is or has been in the budget world. With that in mind, there are several budget lights that are sort of hall of famers and need to be owned by any well rounded flashlight aficionados.

Sipik SK-58 ——- Compact high output AA zoomy, needs mod. if unprotected 14500 used

Sipik SK-73 ——- Direct drive out of the box, compact

Inova Micro Light, red ——- Minimum light pollution, fairly water resistant, great clip

Smiling Shark SS-5039 ——- Limited output without extensive mod. but best feeling and looking AAA light there is

CNQ zoomy host ——- Kit for mod only, excellent build, with modified bezel ring it can take Ahorton lens

Coast HP1 ——- Two useful positions: great flood, and spot and spill like a reflector light, often difficult to open up

Smiling Shark SS-902 ——- Pivoting angle head and zoom. Very flexible illumination when tail standing, but added weight in back makes it more stable. Great for close up pictures.

“Sipik”like 18650 head lamp “Q5 Focus LED 240Lum” at Banggood or on E-Bay —— Nice headlamp, zoom, excellent head band. Mods. can increase flood.

Black Cat or Tank 007 ——- Throw from an AAA light

Tmart 3 X D cell zooming Light ——- Will last through days of power outage, doesn’t need lithium cells for good output, very slick zoom mechanism.
