$50….Really? I guess if you must have a Fenix it may be worth it.
But for $20, even the UT01 blows it away. Or even the Manker E11 I believe for $30. And both have AA/14500 capabilities and XML Hi emittersI believe rather than XPG R5’s
Like I said, if it has to be a Fenix, I understand. Maybe there is some feature of Fenix LD12 I am not aware of.
I was just ready another thread about the lights you mention. It was talking about the faulty electronics.
My take on Fenix is that you’re generally buying quality. That’s worth quite a lot, depending on your use. Especially if you use your lights outdoors and depend on them to get back home.
Oh yes, the Fenix LD12. I had the original version, gifted it to my son who is now working in London. I want him to have a very reliable light in his possession. No parasitic drain, virtually zero accidental turn-on, just extremely robust switch and over-all build. Different from the other Fenix offerings that I also have.
I suppose I tend to agree with that. Out of the ~2 dozen Fenix lights I’ve owned only 1 light crapped out on me after 1yr+ of frequent use on my keychain. Even then I’m not sure it was the lights fault as it was a SS LD01 which I solely ran a 10440 cell in. At the time David (now of 4-7s) replaced it no questions asked even though it had not been purchased from him. Wow! Talk about CS!
