Torn between TrustFire TR-3T6 or Sky Ray King

$50.96 one is warm white and $37.90 is cool white.

Thanks for that. Now which one do people say has the better contrast outside in the woods, the cool or the warm?

Well I finally pulled the trigger. I ordered a gold cool white 2500 lumen SRK from FastTech. After the 5% “BLF” discount code, it came to only $36 with free shipping. What a deal. From all the positive comments posted here, I have a funny feeling that I will not be disappointed! I have 4 of the green protected Panasonic 3400’s to run it, and a Nitecore i4 v2 to charge those babies up.

Now the worse part, the wait. But they is no better feeling than “having a light in the mail”!

wow, out of that list one I own purely because a member sold it on at a price to good to pass and the other four I have no desire at all to own.

sub $65, I think I just prefer building my own lights from host kits or super cheap lights I can play about with.

Let me put it this way. You will NOT be disappointed with the king as long as you get a good one. You might be disappointed with the TR-3T6, especially if you already own a King. The wow factor of the king is not to be underestimated. However, having said that, if I could only own one it would be the Tr-3T6. I don’t often need the wow factor and the TR-3T6 with only two batteries is very easy to carry. In fact it’s just about perfect. The king is a bit odd to carry around. I also have the Rook and use it more than the King.

You don't have a King, a SolarForce, or a Sipik clone?!? You're crazy man.

I dont like the king, will not ever own a p60 and detest zoomys so no, not crazy, I don’t like the die image so wont own an aspheric either.

I think the King would grow on you if you gave it a chance.

You can use the SolarForce to embarrass SureFire users.

The Sipik SK68 puts a bigger grin on my face than 90% of the lights in my collection. It really is a must have for $6. Probably my all time favorite because it's so cheap and versatile.

nah, most of my lights are bought on the premise of being useful at work. The king just wouldn’t be.

As I say, I really dont like p60 lights, there are far better designs available so why compromise? And I just dont like the effect aspheric lenses give, I’ve had a couple and just did not like them, if I want the flood effect, I’ll build a mule light, otherwise I just prefer a reflector.

Is the king a flood monster?

Tse tse, I’m from Mauritius too. Where you live dude? And what is your name!!

…own 4 of the lights in the list and my all time favorite is the STL-V6. Second is the long-john-silver 5 xml 3 battery broom stick.

Have zoomies, smallies, recoil spots. Probably have 20 flashlights total, if I went in there and count them all.

Batteries out the wazoo, chargers out the wazoo, and burned through my flashlight disposable income a few years ago, so this is my first post in quite a while.

I did have a FryRay 3xml that was incredible for about 15 minutes…

hello dude  the SRK i got is a clone from Fasttech, as i don’t think u can still find a true SRK. compared with the Fandyfire Warrior i got recently, its more floddy. its the light i would get if there is a power cut. with ceiling bounce it lights up the whole room.
Most impressive i have is still the BTU Shocker… on turbo

My vote is for the SRK mainly because its shorter and holds an extra cell.

Not counting form factor preferences, the 3T6 hands down:

  • Has 3S capability. Allows you to drive more demanding new emitters better if you decide to mod.
  • Can run on 4AA's if you have the extension tube (3S). Or three 17670 (I think - 4,500mAh) Ni-MH's.
  • More throwy beam. Still a flooder, but you do get the light out further.
  • Better heat sink capability. The connection from the pill to the host is weak if you mod the current higher. But you can fix that when you mod it.
  • You can run on one cell if you want it to be almost C8 sized.

Compact size of the SRK is great, but it's also it's weakness.
