TR-J18 or ?

Hello! I am new here and would like to ask for advice whether if i should get the J18 or some other torch within this price range. (below 58usd) I also have the FandyFire version of the King.
J18 is from FastTech btw

Thanks!

Do you have an HD2010 or a STL-V6?

I’d go the Blackshadow Darth for $59 from fancy flashlights on sale.

I own the J18, kind of like it but although I don’t have the Darth and it probably isn’t quite as bright, I’ll bet the build quality is a lot better.

Also the amount of small reflectors and emitters on the J18 personally I think is a waste, I’d rather have less emitters driven harder in a monster light.

Nope. Only the UV-S5 which is on the way to me.

If i had to choose between the Darth and the J18, i would choose the J18.

You just had to show me the Darth for $59 (Or I just had to click on this post, one or the other). I like that light and the price was putting me off….
No, I will resist… spent too much this month… and last month.
Now I have to hold out for 11day10hour00minute50second…

Oh, and welcome to the forum Prodfk!

Thanks Relic38

Hey, just giving my opinion

Sure thing man  If you feel offended, I am sorry.

Also, Does the J18 have a beam when shine to the sky?

Just good manners to thank someone for their opinion, no biggy. It is very floody and bright, so if that’s what you want it won’t let you down. And welcome to the forum

Thanks  It seems that the J16 is more expensive than the J18 in FastTech, any idea if this battery could be used for the J18? TF 2500mah

Thx!

They would, although they look low in capacity and at 2500mAh they are probably a lot less due to Chinese exaggeration, they probably won’t hold up if you’re using it in a 2 cell format either. These are much better, a pair for $18.90 and you’d probably get a better deal if you look around. They have been well tested and reviewed at more than double the capacity at a true 4300mAh:

They’re probably the best going at the moment for 26650’s considering they are protected, something very important when using multiple cells in series.

Lithium batteries aren’t something you want to cheap out on either.

Hi Prodfk and welcome to BLF.

I was in Singapore a couple of years back and enjoyed taking a look round the electronics markets. Is there not a local supplier of flashlights amongst them? I don’t remember seeing lights but just about every other electronic gizmo was well represented although the deals were not as good as I saw in KL.

I do not have the KING so i do not know so i can’t comment much if comparing KING with J18.

J18 do have a blurry beam if u point it to sky. Its more like a Very Bright Florescent tube or flood light.
It will not have Starwars “light sabar” effect at all.

Batts i used are the same type as recommended by “whokilledJR” , they can tahan quite long.

For me, the brightness of 2000+ lumen from J18 i feel is enough, BUT base on the price, i am not complaining & never looked back due to my needs (flood & can see in front 50-100meters.)

Hope it helps.

The YINHEX YH-19 at Wallbuys may fit the bill, if it’s driven hard. It’s familiar to me, I’m sure I have seen a different brand elsewhere.
At $48 it looks like a decent value. I would like to have seen a switch on the handle though, otherwise, it looks good.

That’s the APEX or Solarstorm 5T6. If it’s the same or decent clone it another well reviewed/received monster light, in fact it so happens I’ll be in a store today to check it out along with many others.

Right, that’s the one. Wallbuys lists that to for $82.77. If the YINHEX is a good clone (definitely not the same; slightly different styling), then it definitely is a good buy at $48.

I’d say it’s probably the solarstorm version which would be a bit cheaper, and also a bit underdriven. It was eventually updated to the APEX which is driven more to spec but more expensive. It just so happens I’ll be going into a store today to check out the solarstorm, along with many other flashlights.

Thanks guys! I am in a dilemma since i do not know which to get. 26650 are expensive, i think i might be sticking with 18650s until i have money lol

ChimpOnABike, There are people who sells branded flashlights here in SG but i think their range is limited to a few brands and models.

There have been many good reports of the Protected TF Flame 26650s from Fasttech , I have four on the way.
I recently received two unprotected TF Flames from Tmart which are looking good too (right around 4Ah @ 1A). Those were expensive ($11 each) but they were replacements Tmart sent for crappy UF cells I bought.
