There is no easy way to do that. You could send the drop-in to E1320 and he could put in a new 5 mode driver(Moonlight-Low-Med-High-Turbo) with high pwm.
Yeah, that should actually be enough, but I do like that I could run the light on a single AA.
Maybe I’ll just replace the driver to what you said, one that has a low voltage cut off around 2.8V.
I can use this old driver for a DIY project.
While the PWM switches voltage on and off, a capacitor can be used as a “buffer” for the current. While the driver is on, part of the current is used to charge the cap; while it’s off, the cap gives current back to the LED.
Suppose it’s 3A and 100 Hz PWM; at medium 30% the cap would have to yield about 1A for 7ms with a voltage drop of, say, <0.1V.
Then the cap should have at least 70mF… that would be quite big.
It still doesnt make sense to me… Not saying that what you wrote is not true, just saying that I have no idea what you are talking about. Could you send some picture on What I have to do with what you said, and what this cap (capacitor I guess) looks like.
You`re talking to a noob when it comes to technical details. I know how a circuit board looks like, I can even replace one, but what part has what name, I know not.
I'm no expert but here goes nothing. :) A capacitor is like a tiny battery. You would wire it up so when the flashlight is on it charges the capacitor but when it is off the capacitor releases then energy. Naturally this is all happening hundreds of times a second and it will end up raising the pwm frequency.
