While I was searching for a good & affordable AA or AAA mini LED lantern for indoors and camping, I’ve found this UCO Clarus LED lantern / flashlight >>
using XP-E R3 CREE LED , the maximum output is 150 lumens, only 1 hour …
they don’t mention how many lumens for the low setting, but the runtime of 70 hours with 3 AAA batteries this collapsible lantern is quite promising, and the flashlight mode isn’t bad at all.
Does anyone have any experience with this lantern? if not, would anyone recommend a good small AA or AAA LED lantern like the UCO Clarus that spreads light in all directions evenly?
I was thinking about the Coleman MicroPacker but there are some negative reviews about it, and the Rayovac Sportsman LED Lantern, but prefer smaller lanterns using AAs or AAAs …
Check out the specs on this one. I own one, and it seems rock solid. A heck of a deal for the price. I bought mine at Dillards Dept store for like $8 during one of their after xmas sales. Still worth the $23 they are asking.
91 hours on low setting: 15 lumens of light, and 22 hours on high at 120 lumens, does it really last this long ?!
and what about that glow in the dark feature ?
I saw this at ShipperSupply but didn’t pick it up, handled it abit and the overall feel is good, the hook to hang it from the tail is solid. I’m kinda kicken myself for not grabbing one on my way to LeeValley tools (which doesn’t carry a lot of flashlights) for chisels
Anyone doing a review? How’s the output on fresh cells? It only looked like 100 lumens when I toyed with it
I have 2 of the larger AA model uco lanterns, I think its called the lumora. I like them and they seem fairly well built. I actually have the old version and the newer version that put out quite a few more lumens. The old version is more pleasing to the eye and has a less harsh beam. I use them mostly inside the tent when camping and they light up the tent well. If I need more light I just break out the coleman propane lantern. I always wanted to get one of uco’s candle lanterns too but candles always seemed to go against my electric flashlight and battery obsession.
