Ultra budget 16340 light?

So, a couple of months ago, a seller on Aliexpress had offered the Thorfire KL03 for $2.5 and I had pulled the trigger on 3. Since they’d have been my first 16340 lights, I also ordered some Olight protected batteries that were a good deal then. Turns out the seller didn’t ship the KL03s after all due to supply issues but had updated the order status to shipped and provided me with a tracking number (this seller had originally asked me to cancel my order as they had issues and would take some time to fix them, I had said I was willing to wait and was OK with them delaying shipping after which they gave me a tracking number which never worked).

Long story short, the seller is willing to refund the money but I’m still out 20 bucks on four 16340s (I prefer 14500) :stuck_out_tongue:

So, what would be a decent 16340 light to get in the ultra budget category, $10 or less or max of $15? Anything that comes with a 219B/C stock? Or at least with NW/WW options?

On The Road M3 5c 3800-4000K is currently $20. Slightly over your budget, but it’s a pretty good price for an Olight clone.

Convoy 18350s can also take 16340s. You can pick neutral or warm, all the way to 3000K. They’re right at the edge of your $15 budget.

That’s all I’ve seen for 16340 with neutral or warm white at your price range.

The combination sub-$15 and Nichia 219 does not exist as far as I know. A 1340 light that can be recommended is the On The Road M3, it comes with a neutral led but it is 20 dollar: http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_366735.html?wid=21

The S2+ is for a 18350 size cell. It fits a 16340 too but the light is rather large for a 16340 flashlight.

Astrolux A01 has a Nichia 4000K, but it’s 1xAAA.

I really love the M3 but can’t afford one ATM especially since I need to buy two :slight_smile:
As for the S2+ on the 18350 tube, then I’d have to buy some 18350s as well to maximise runtime, you see my problem? :smiley: :stuck_out_tongue:

Clarification: the need to be under $10-15 takes precedence over Nichias and NW/WW :smiley:

I think if there’s nothing interesting out there, I’ll just refrigerate the cells I got until I can afford the Astrolux S41 :slight_smile:

In terms of “interesting”, the only thing interesting I saw is this Ultrafire U for $10 on gearbest. A 16340 zoomie with a magnet in the tailcap. Probably cool white, but if I can easily change the LED to my own color temperature… hmmm, I may have to add that to my own wishlist and research to see if it has PWM.

Ordered it when two 16340 cells were cheaper to buy then one so had one spare
I like the look and feel but tint is awful so plan on swapping a Nichia 219b from Jaxman (paid $8 for 3 of them on copper)
