Ultracell D cell 11000ma battery ?

Tests look bad so far… Charge/Discharge (1.1ma/2.0ma) a little less than 4000ma for series testing. Will test single next.

Told you it is around there. But if you extrapolate it, it's in the ballpark. :) Just that for us flashaholics, we'd prefer something that can withstand the higher current + have more capacity in a cell so that we don't have to change batteries so often.

Hi guys,

my first post here; been lurking for a while...

Sorry to hijack this thread, but any review or word about ansman D cells?

http://singapore.rs-online.com/web/p/d-rechargeable-batteries/6199825/

it sold for ~$14USD for 1 pair at this link above... are they any good?

Sorry again for hijacking. Need some opinion about this.

The Ansman are pretty ok. There are some comments on them in the TK70 thread. The flashlight is sensitive, feed them crap cells which sag under load and it cannot maintain in Turbo mode for > 12 seconds. Auto kickdown.

2100, thanks for the reply! Wink

I got a TK60, looking for some alternatives from the 'D' alkalines to feed it.Money mouth

Will try to get more info or reviews since Ansman looks to be the easiest to get my hands on compared to Tenergy at this category.

The 4 tested Ultracell 11000ma D cell batteries never exceeded 4000ma. All came in at 3900+ma discharging at 2.0A to .9volts. Ebay seller and I came to an agreement. His choices were for me to mail them back and he would reimburse me shipping and $18.79 purchase price or partial refund. He put no conditions …like 5 star feedback or no refund. He was professional and accepted my partial refund request amount. It was deposited in my Paypal account that day. Bottom line is don’t waste your money on these Ultrasuck D cell batteries.

I would have guessed 7k-8k mAh with those cells but 4k is awful!

Didn't have any luck finding a review. Posted here AFTER I pulled the trigger. MR 2100 had the scoop and said 4000-5000mah. Next time I'll ask first. Hopefully this will help the next Googler.u

Thanks for the posting, you’ve saved me from a major blunder!

Sadly I’m very wary about buying ‘D’ sized NiMH Cells now.

Ideally Sanyo would manufacture their Eneloop XX Cells in a proper D size (NOT via an adaptor!)

My next move was to be the Fenix TK70 and the Maha 808 charger etc.

Now I’m not so sure.

I’ve been made all too aware of bad NiMH cells when charging up some Energizer AA NiMh cells via my AccuPower IQ328

The Energizer voltages, capacities etc were all over the place.

By comparison my Eneloops were within hundreths of a unit of whatever i mas measuring.

If anybody has a suggestion for Eneloop quality LSD D Cells of at least 9500mAh capacity available in the UK then I’m all ears!

@peterkin1010: Tenergy Centura for 8 Ah LSD, Tenergy Premium for 10 Ah but non-LSD.

Another spin on Premium vs LSD

I wonder why noone sells Tenergy D-Cells in 5 or 6 quantities?
Everyone sells 4, 8 or more ?

I need exactly 5 but have to buy 8 to get the 5 I need

Send an inquiry about the possibility to get a complementary single unit listing or some other alternative solution, you may find a helping hand. :-)

Cheers ^:)
