Ultrafire C8 XML T6 mods

*I just recently purchased a Ultrafire C8 XML T6, its bight as hell  , But i hate the 5 mode, my flash light came with no memory mode so it keeps switching to the next mode. Any tips of what mods i should do?

Thanks ahead of time for any feed back.*

Is it not obvious? Do you LIKE next-mode memory? That’s always the first thing to go with mine.

The only mod I did to my two c8 was to repla e the driver. I suggest you be nanj105 or the kd v2, both come with selectable modes and are very cheap. I think the nanj comes with the output wires soldered, a big plus if you have no soldering skills. it’s easy to solder the wires in the star, but difficult to solder them in the driver (at least, it is for me,it’s veeery small)

were do i get the parts to change the driver and can i get a quick how to. TY

No i (had to remove the f bomb)hate the next-mode thing |( What parts did you put in you C8 and were did you get them. :quest:

Can you solder (or do you have a friend, who can)? Because you have to solder a few parts (but it is easy).

You can get it here:

The fasttech NANJG 105C is good, under $3 after discount. 17mm should fit the C8 just fine. Do you have a link for your light anyway, just to confirm?

Here’s the driver:

You need to be able to solder and desolder wires, and probably need to solder/swap the spring too (depends on you light battery clearance).

Please edit your post; this is a family-friendly forum.

Thanks, and good luck with your mod.

Here th kd one ( I have this installed)

Here the nanj from fasttech

To install it you have to desolder the leads from the star, and the old driver from the pill (it’s soldered around the border)
Resolder the wires in both the driver and star (in the case of the nanj the wires come already soldered to the driver, and maybe if you ask in kaidomain they cand do it for you too) , solder the outer ring to the pill, and finally select one of the modes soldering the pads in the kd or the star in the nanj

Do you really want to have a strobe mode? I can’t imagine a good reason to use it, but if you like it, go on!

I have never seen a 2 group 105C - but it’s cheaper and has the 3 mode version I like.

Thank you to everyone helping me with my questions! 8) I want to set it up with High>Low>Strobe with memory or High>Med>Strobe if low is not possible. I could do the soldering work my self.

One of the modes in the nanj is lo-hi-strobe, fits your needs. For the kd you have hi-fast 10hz strobe or hi-mid-2hz slow strobe, so maybe the nanj is a better choice
Edit: I think kaidomain can reprogram a custom driver to meet your requirements, ask them if you want

There’s a minimum order from KD for reprogramming IIRC.

L-H-S acceptable instead of H-L-S? Then the $3.76 nanjg from fasttech (totilde link above) fits the bill. You just need to solder star #2 to ground to select that mode group.

That sounds good to have L-H-S with the KD, but does it have memory mode that it always come back on were u left it off?

is the 2hz strobe like really slow?

Need help

I got up to this point and need help to continue:

1. How to remove the emitter?
2. Do I unsolder first the wires and lift it up?
3. To put it back or replace with a new emitter, which adhesive/glue do you recommend to use.
4. Recommended replacement wires.

1. How to remove the bottom part?
2. Is it force fit or with glue?

73!

Thanks Relic for your help!
Answers:

  1. Unsolder the two wires and just lift up the emitter. The white stuff is
a heat sink thermal compound. Not an adhesive.
  2. See #1
  3. Use Thermal compound like this.
  4. Not sure yet.

1. Use a needle point tweezer to pry it off.
2. Force fit. No glue.

See the driver for this:

Micho,

Place a 470K in parallel to the cap as shown if your driver is the same as mine.

I love this forum! Thanks for everyone’s support!

I just bought a cheap Ultrafire C8 XM-L T6… and the quality is terrible! Even the front lens rattled loose, and I had to loosen the driver/led pill so it would rise the reflector and wedge the lens in place. I have feeling it is not genuine Ultrafire

It had this annoying “next mode memory” too, where it would come on different mode every time. So I made it 1-mode light by connecting the leg that is above number 9 in the CX2829 chip to the -. (thanks to steve098 from another for that solution)
