Uniquefire uf-t20 compatible with 2 cr123? Weapon light!

The uniquefire light shows to require 1 18650 battery. I have searched for driver voltage with no luck. Will powering this light with 2 - cr123 batteries cause damage?

The reason i would want to run cr123 would be the fact that i have a fear of exploding rechargeables. Is there a charger battery combo that would be safest. Also, this is for a weapon light and i have read things about recoil affecting protected cells.

Then don’t use protected cells. Cells only explode when they are:

-overcharged
-overheated (discharged harder than they’re rated)
-reverse charged (putting a healthy cell in series with a half-depleted cell, or cells of two different capacities)
-Puncturing the cell will usually cause flames too

Those are the only circumstances under which a li-ion cell will explode.

As for a safe combo, it’s really simple. Don’t buy a charger cheaper than a Nitecore i2, and don’t buy ANY Chinese batteries other than Trustfire ‘flames’. Stick to Panasonic/Samsung/Sanyo/LG, or a company that uses their cells as base (AW, Nitecore, ect.).

There's usually enough tolerance in the components of any 'single 18650/3-4.5 volt' driver to also handle 2x cr123 just fine.

Well hell. That charger is only 15 bucks shipped. That’s not too bad at all. Thanks for your help and sorry about the newb questions.

I bought a pair of Trustfire Flame 18350s, the '1200mAh' turned out to be 360mAh on one and 380 on the other. Avoid. Saving money isn't really saving anything if you end up with something that's not usable, no matter how 'cheap' it is up front.

Any recommendations for a good thrower, besides the t20, that can fit in a 1” mount that can handle a little recoil?

Newb Qs are GOOD!

“-reverse charged (putting a healthy cell in series with a half-depleted cell, or cells of two different capacities)”

This means a user error with CR123s or cheaply manufactured primary cells with widely different internal resistance could be the problem you want to avoid.

I will keep that in mind. I dont think it will be an issue in this case, i am looking for a smallish light for my rifle, so either 1 18650 or two cr123
