UniqueFire UF-T20

Thinking about the UniqueFire UF-T20. Looking for opinions on should I buy this one or another one.

Thanks.

can’t go wrong … it’s a good an all purpose light, one of the best zoomies out there.
question is what do you need the light for?

Nothing more than work around the house and in the woods.

The first picture on the Wallbuys Web site looks like the lens is too much smaller than the head. Also, I don’t like the looks of it. There are lots of good zoomies around cheap.
Does anyone know what size it is? The add. says “Net Weight:173g” which is large for a zoomy, but what size is it, and what size and focal length (or thickness) is the lens? The focal length is usually about equal to the zoom distance plus the lens thickness.

The head is 44 mm and lens (genuine glass!) 37 mm. Picture with better angle of head I’m also not very fond of the looks, but the build quality, machining and the performance (xp-g2 for throw) beats others at similar price range.

EDIT: Lens thickness 18 mm. Focal length is quite short.

I received mine a few weeks ago and have been rather pleased with it. I mostly use on the low mode flood inside and the high mode (focused half the way) in for outside lighting. You will allwayse find a use for this light even if you purchase others later.

thats cheap for a zoomie thats brighter than the uf-t20. i thought the uf t20 was the brightest stock zoomie out there .
i have one, but its modded. so i cant comment on stock form. i prefer zoomies thats a non twist

Yeah, its not a twisty. It is possible I got a “bad” UF-t20, but others report bluish beams and seems most people mod it so I’m guessing not. I had 3 of the wf-878s, all about the same. I like them for a cheap toss around/borrower light a lot, esp because of battery capabilities, but nobody seems to have one or like them but me and my friends.

For comparison, my Yezl t9’s visible part of the lens is 33 mm., 38 mm. overall lens diameter, head diameter 43 mm., lens thickness just over 10 mm. Zoom travel is 30 mm., so I think the focal length is right around 40 mm. I think the way to count focal length of a plano-convex lens is to the center of the curve, or close to it, because that is the point where rays pass through as though the lens were flat.
There is some advantage of a thin long focal length lens: the trow is a tiny bit more because the led emits more light forward, and the flood is wider. However I have been trying to get a thicker lens for the Yezl.
So the only thing I have against the UF-T20 is its appearance. Not sure why I like the appearance of the Yezl better than that of the UltraFire mentioned above, but I have made enough pottery and jewelery to have a feel and eye for shape. The UF-T20 is just too cylindrical.
