Universal Pocket Clips

There are plenty of universal pocket clips to fit the standard 1 inch diameter pocket rocket. This thread could be used for links to those but preferably to non-standard sizes. If you are interested in buying a non-OEM pocket clip for your light or know where others can buy them, please post links in this thread.

I myself would like to buy a pocket clip that would fit my husband's 1.25 inch diameter Olight R40 Seeker if anyone knows where I can buy one. My husband sometimes jokes about a pocket clip to fit his Nitecore TM26 but if there somehow happens to be one on the market that would fit, please post that is well. He would deeply appreciate the former and get a laugh out of the latter but may very well buy one if it was so heavy duty that it could actually work. I'm afraid of that.

Good idea for a thread.

Looking for a clip to top mount to my S2+ for a deep carry.

a few members have one they bought from fasttech for that light, was it dchomak or garrybunk (i forget)

An Olight R40 Seeker please?

Don’t go Bi-polar girl.

Actually, I have been treated for that but it has nothing to do with the name.

I don’t think there are any clips for the R40, it has no mounting holes, and the clip would have to fit in between the tailcap and the body like a washer, or wrap around the body like a olight i3s. I think a holster would be a better option.

My husband already has a holster.

He would prefer a clip. A clip might be the difference between him being totally happy with this light versus buying an Olight S30R.

there is also a third option (but the most extreme), and that is to find a suitably thick spot in the light, and drill screw holes in, and use the clip posted by Jubeldum, or manufacture your own clip and use it instead.

If he is that on the fence about it, I say go for it.

Drilling holes in not an option. I like that wrap around idea that you said the Olight i3s has. If only something like that existed for the Seeker.

I've always been amazed there are a million really nice knife clips made and no one has brought them over to the flashlight community . the clip for the s2 shown above works but is really pretty lame and makes the light look and feel cheaper than it is .

You are 100% correct. I never thought of that. Now ya got my attention. :)

Can we start thinking of ways to adapt these knife clips to our lights? For myself, I do not care for the aesthetics of the clip for the S2 but I do like that it allows the light to ride low enough in my shirt or jeans pocket.

You have started what I would think is great thread :) Unfortunately, for hubby's light, it is going to be very very difficult if for no other reason because it is a 26650 light.

That does not mean it is the end of the road though. You may want to consider a knife clip as Boaz has suggested and then think of a way to attach without drilling - possibly using paracord or even a common band-it clamp.

What this site needs is a person with machinist skills and tools who can start out with custom orders then expand to larger scale production of products going beyond clips and into things like custom gun mounts sold on Ebay. In other words, this site needs a Vinh of flashlight accessories to start. Artistic talent would be a definite plus but not necessary when no one else is doing this stuff.

I figured BLF is a better site for DIY flashlight enthusiasts than CPF thus more likely to find this would be entrepreneur here. Is there anyone here who can step up and start this much needed side business that can grow into a full time career?

That would be great if it could be profitable. One-offs would not be profitable and unless someone already had the equipment it will be a not-so-cheap start-up for what is a hobby to most.

Here is an example. A solarforce clip will fit many lights but range from $6-$9....therefore many are reluctant to purchase.

Custom holsters would probably do better but that is still not so easy.

It would definitely be a hard sell for standard 1 inch diameter clips and mounts using common metals but people with non standard size flashlights that cost a bit would gladly pay more. My husband wouldn't mind paying $20 for a Seeker clip if it were good. Accessories made of precious metals like platinum, gold, or silver can be sold for more than the flashlight itself especially if other expensive extras like jewels and artwork were added. Even titanium upgrades to standard issue accessories would be worth paying for. Olight's magnetic gun mounts sell for $40 and people buy it. Who wants to spend $100 or more on a light and have accessories that look too cheap for it?

It’s not hard to add a clip to the lanyard holes of a flashlight around a rear clickie on the back turret. The problem is that the material is almost always aluminum and aluminum does not take small threads well.

Most knife clips take a #2x56 screw (about .086 inches in diameter) so you really need to open up the holes on the clip and maybe drill and tap the body of the light. This is not easy without a drill press and drill press vise.

I would consider getting a body mounted clip and bending it slowly to fit if you can’t tap a flashlight body.

The Seeker does have lanyard holes. If only I can find a clip that fits.

Measure the distance between your lanyard holes.
