I recently bought a Niwalker ETmini M1 V2S on Banggood and according to the listing there, and also the listing on the Niwalker website, for the “6500K flood channel” it should have either 3x XP-G3 or 3x LH351C, but looking at the actual LED’s, I’m 99,9% sure it’s neither of those 2 LED’s.
They are 3535 domed LED’s, but with a round die/LES, which excludes both LED’s mentioned before. They do look pretty much like Luminus SST-12 LED’s though, so that would be my guess. Does anyone else have (another) suggestion on what they could be?
Pretty sure they are cool white SST-12s, here are how my warm white SST-12s look like:
4000K

3500K

I would definitely take SST-12s over XP-G3 any day…
3 Thanks
Yes, I’m also quite sure they are SST-12’s. I also completely agree with you that I would rather have SST-12’s than XP-G3’s.
The weird thing with this light, is that, as a buyer/customer you have no way of knowing which 3 LED’s there are in the flood channel, since Nightwalker lists that it will be one of 2 options and apparently there is also a random 3rd option.
They clearly use whatever they can find (for a reasonable price).
In the end it won’t mather all that much, since I will be swapping the SST-12’s out for 4000K 519A’s anyway.
On a sidenote: I just noticed they also flowed the SST-12 wrongly on the MCPCB in terms of polarity! Just did a check with my DMM (diode check), to be sure the driver wires weren’t swapped on the driver side, but it does turn out that the LED’s are soldered in the wrong orientation.
I’m with you on that, silently changing components is not a good practice (in this case it is an upgrade but there is no guarantee).
I totally missed that!
Well, that’s another bad practice…
