Dear All,

With a wink and a smile, our company is stepping into the prime of its youth at 18th.

18 years of journey, because of you, our company can thrive. Please accept our sincere gratitude.

Being reliable is our mission. It is not easy, but we believe that only good products can win the long-term trust.

By luck, we have you, who have the same faith. May our cooperation become even more closely-knit as we welcome the next 18 years of brilliant achievements together!

Thank you,
XTAR Team

To celebrate our 18th birthday, we have prepared some interesting events and exclusive custom free gifts on Facebook and Instagram. Join us and stay tuned for this surprise party!

Happy anniversary XTAR!

 You’re old enough now!

I’ve got 15-16 of your chargers going on 14 years, so I’m a fan.

3 VP2s, 3 ANTs, 1 MC1, 4 XP1s, 1 SP1/2, and others I’m missing.

Keep up the good work and thank you!

Chris

My first XTAR charger was a VP2

Thanks for your support!

Like many here, I don’t do facebook nor instagram, is there an alternative link?

Happy 18th!

New product: MC1 plus with type-c charging port (I think it’s obligatory from EU legislation from now on). Extra feature: Power bank functionality with USB-A 2A output. Obviously, for safety, it should automatically shutdown the power bank function at a reasonable voltage, let’s say 3V or 2,9V. Extra feature: Ni-MH AA and AAA charging capability @ 0,5V automatically.

Improvement for SC1 plus: a) Stronger spring. It seems that the battery looses contact even from a small move or when the charger is placed vertically (inside the car, for example). With heavier batteries, like 21700, etc, this is worse. b) Better negotiation with wall adapter. It seems that it charges Samsung 30Q’s with Xiaomi 18W MDY-10-EF adapter at under 1A. c) It seems that it’s 4 leds have different (voltage) meaning, compared to MC1 plus or the old SC1 (micro usb version). In power bank function, when only the first led is lit, the battery is at 3,5V or so, which is a little bit high for 1/4 of the capacity. d) Higher cut off voltage for the power bank function. Right now, it’s at 2,75V, which is a little bit low i think.

As an Xtar dealer I want to see more chargers with manual current adjustment. I imported 50pcs VC4SL and by using button top cells it causes an incorrect high resistance reading, so now it’s limited to 0.5A - 1A for a Molicel P45B.

We need an Auto & Manual switch on the side like the Vapcell S4+ V3. At least the FC2 uses a manual switch on the side to control the current.

I’d love to see an updated SC1 Plus with the same switch on the side like the FC2, or release a new single slot charger with it, and that’s up to at least 2A.

4 Thanks

I also like the FC2, except the switch thing. Isn’t a switch an extra point of failure? Of course, we have to have both options available. That’s why a new MC1 plus with type-c and 1A max makes sense. To cover the conservative guys who want to charge slowly. Or if you want to have a switch, maybe this design of LiitoKala LII-100B is good, if it doesn’t make the charger too bulky. A press switch under a rubber cover with leds indicating current amperage selected. More waterproof, harder to change setting accidentally inside a backpack (i guess this kind of switch is electronic) and the reading on top instead of the side. The charger also has to remember selected mode.

Better NiMH charging algorithms would be great

  1. Update the products you intend to keep in the lineup with Type-C, and implement it properly, which means dumping non-compliant protocols like QC3 when high power is needed, and employing PD, the anointed standard for power delivery over USB-C.

  2. Allow full manual control over charging current, if not in the mainstream models, in a line aimed at enthusiasts, like the VP models used to be.

  3. Cut down on the number of models, and if improved variants are introduced, don’t continue to market the old ones. The VC4S should have gone away when the VC4SL was introduced (as well as the PB2S/PB2SL), and reselling models under different model names, or brands, like Allmaybe, is needlessly complicated and potentially confusing for buyers.

The first priority of any charger should be to serve as a charger, and the focus on making sure it performs that function well.

The MC1+ is actually my favorite XTAR charger, because it’s simple, cheap, and does exactly what it is meant to do – charge batteries, and does it well. It doesn’t need any extraneous features, especially typically poorly implemented ones found in chargers, like power banking, that would bring with them the higher cost, and the potential for bugs.

I gave my MC1 to someone who received a light without onboard charging, and have been struggling to find something to replace it.

I’m not going to buy another MC1, or any other product with a micro-USB input in 2025. But if it had Type-C, it would have been an easy choice.

The SC1 looked interesting, but with no way to control the current.

For me, the biggest hole in the XTAR lineup is a straightforward model with modern USB input, and controllable (high) current.

Every candidate I’ve considered trips over one hurdle or the other, and there is nothing that satisfies the sweet spot. The closest is the FC2, but there is no single slot counterpart, like an FC1. Or an SC1 with selection switch.

It’s not a secret formula, or a big ask, but for whatever reason, there is still a void.

MC1 with USB-C and ability to charge NiMH.

  • Maybe using a bit longer springs? So the tension in them varies between 20% - 90% and not between 0% - 100%.
  • A menu option to charge the cell’s in the lights that are not in your daily rotation to 3.6V-3.7V (much like LiPoFe4).

But whatever you do: don’t skip the 0-volt capabilities. I like those a lot!

XTAR PB2S improve efficiency from 79% to 90%. Add pass through feature. Make 3*21700 version?
XTAR FC2 add option to charge with 1.5 A per channel, not only for one channel.

1 Thank

Add Bluetooth to Chargers, so we can use view charging status and/or control it.
